Located off Route 9 near Clifton. Rating is based on walking to the top.
I've wanted to place a cache here since the original disappeared over a year ago. It was called Chick Hill, but I believe it is Peaked Mountain, in front of Chick Hill. The access road is called Chick Hill Rd. off Route 9 and is located about a mile east of Parks Pond Campground on the left going east. Drive to the parking area at the trail head located just off the dirt portion. You can drive a 4-wheel drive vehicle to the top or walk. It is about a 35-40 minute walk. Great exercise!! This is a very heavily used area. Please guard the presence of this cache. There is no bushwhacking involved if you go to the generator/tower and walk to the right on the path. Container is a pill bottle, about 6 inches in length, that is painted and covered with camo tape. The theme of this cache is cash. Because of the size of it, please limit exchange of items to coins from any country, geocoins, WG$, and tb's with dog tags only. Original contents include: Russ tb, Sacajawea $, Maine quarter, Loonie, WG$, log, pencil, and sharpener. |
