Just a short hop off the road. Nice place to explore for views. Tall grasses, use caution! Medium sized rubbermaid box has a small stash of incense, batteries, trash bags, pencils, log book, and a few other goodies. Leave something you wore with you to this site. The most important thing is to take a few monents to do the Zen thing and take in the moment. Photos will be posted to the website soon. Enjoy the views. |

Did this on the way home from a rehearsal in Poughkeepsie at 11:30 p.m. The sky was overcast, and it was a very dark night. Then a train came past ... Lots of fun! Thanks.

It's not safe for even one week! :) Decided to drop by this evening after work. (At 26mi, these evening mini-excursions sure are getting further out there. :) ) This is a beautiful park/reservation with a trail system going up the hill on the other side of the road. I took a few minutes to study the trail map by the parking lot and there sure is a lot of hiking potential around here. Maybe next time. I took an 'unofficial' trail straight to the cache. It's a nice easy meadow walk with views of the pastures and the railbridge. I took some photos of the train as it passed by. No problems finding the cache at all. GPS reception in this area was excellent because there were few trees. Took a ring and a small stone. Left a Hot Wheels car, a frog toy from Six Flags and some Where's George (http://www.wheresgeorge.com) dollar bills. Sorry, I couldn't leave anything I wore there. (might ugly up the countryside) Thanks for a nice evening walk. After that, I explored the surrounding towns and got a waffle cone ice cream and an inexpensive dinner. Perfect.
