Reservoir Woods Park is 120 acres of pines, wetlands, prairie grass, and savanna off of east Larpenteur Avenue and north Dale Street in the northern section of St. Paul. The stone-gated entrance at the parking lot is all that remains of the 1900 caretakers’ house which was torn down in 1998. The park, which includes some of the highest ground in Roseville, is home to a 30-million gallon underground water reservoir that for years had been operated by the City of St. Paul. It is told that dirt was brought in by a special railroad to build up the mound on which the reservoir is located. When the reservoir became outdated, St. Paul sold the land to the City of Roseville in 1997. Neighborhood task forces and park and recreation planners expressed the wish that this new park remain pristine and forest like. Outside of adding a pathway and restoring soft trails, there has been little development. Please help keep the park pristine and stay on the trails as long as possible. Please obey all posted signs.

Neat site that I would never have known about otherwise. I see that the last finder cleaned out all the travel bugs, so I left the G.I. Bug, who I've had since before I went to Guard camp in the middle of June, so it was time to let him continue his mission. I also took a green frog and left a Sacagewea dollar. Thanks for the cache. 15Tango
