Hi Trusty: I did better the second time. I managed that maze of quad trails and found the first cache in no time. On the railroad bed, I hiked left, then right, found no trails going up, so I just bushwhacked straight up the mountain. It was very hot, humid, and the bugs were biting. I broke out on top - right next to the cache site and the flag.

The view was worth the climb; I searched for the second cache for about an hour. You said it was under a rock, but you didn't say there were 300 candidate rocks up there! The two large bolders centered the GPS, and there were great cavities under each, but no cache. Hope someone didn't remove it. Someone who was there just ahead of me had turned over every rock in sight, but the heat, lack of interest, and a looming thunder storm dictated my immediate departure.

I took the quad trail eastward and followed it down to the railroad bed. It was a nice hike, despite the absolutely unforgivable trash conditions up there. Cache in, Dumpster out!

I stopped by the first cache again on the way down and left something there for you. Thanks for a great hike up to your favorite place.

What a great set of views on the way up! I must confess that I didn't do the suggested climb. I bypassed some of it. There was enough to do from the 1st cache to the final cache location. There were campers and vehicles in the reservoir area when I walked in there in the morning. As I kept taking breaks climbing, I was saying to myself that I was looking at the views, which kept getting better and better, and picking some of the low bush blueberries. When I got to the top I realized that I would have liked to stay there all day, but I had to get back to a committment that afternoon. The view is so wonderful and the place so peaceful. Thanks so much for putting a cache there (I said that after the climb!). I found an easier way back down. I forget what I took, but I left an Alaskan salmon magnet and a new pen. I also took out a plastic grocery bag of recyclables.

Hi Trusty!

We found the cache this afternoon. Wow was this a good hike. Well our strategy for the second leg was to walk down the trail until the arrow pointed to the side then we would just go straight up and boy did we stick to the plan. We actually climbed a fallen tree to get up one ridge. The view at the top was well worth the effort. When we reached the top we were so taken with the view and snapping pictures we spent a good ten or fifteen minutes before even looking for the cache. We did find the cache and it was in good shape I took a carabineer and left a bracelet and a small dragonfly. Well you would think that we had enough punishment on the way up, no way we bushwhacked most of the way back down. On the way down we saw a couple of deer who were surprised to see up I think because we were nowhere near a trail.
