Scripps terrace is a beautiful spot for a picnic or to relax between classes. If you’re attending one of the events at Cox Arena, come early and bring your GPSR.

The cache is in an irrigation box mounted on a post across the street from Scripps Cottage. This is a small box without a lot of room so if you bring anything to trade you should keep it small.

First to arrive will find some toys for the kids, 5 – 1 dollar gold coins, The cdrom movie Three Kings and a blank cdr minidisk.

We have also provided a small camera so you can take a picture of yourself. Please log the number of the shot and leave the camera for the next visitor. We will post the developed pictures on the web.

Feel free to post comments and suggestions about our landscape. We’ve got a lot of work to do and we’re always looking for suggestions.

Easy, yes, but, as mentioned, parking is difficult. I finally decided to purchase a parking pass for one hour for a buck. Not too bad in order to avoid a parking fine or, worse, towing charges! Fairly close parking can be located at N 32° 46.525 W117° 04.585 if you can't locate anything else or don't want to hunt for better parking. This gets you about 1/4 mile away walking distance.

It was a neat location. I'm curious if Rob installed that box himself or if the college just forgot about it.

I, too, am an alumnus of SDSU (1992) but was never down near Scripps Cottage to know if it changed. I did notice a great amount of the rest of the campus has changed, though. In particular, there is now a Fraternity Row, believe it or not! You drive right by it on the way to this cache.

Hit this one after a day at the San Diego beaches and some other caches. Sun was setting as I pulled into campus. Figured with it being summer and the weekend I'd drive right up to it, but there was some large event going on so I ended up parking about .25 miles as the crow flies away (not sure if it was a legal lot or not, but used the patented turn your flashers on technique and had no problems). Anyway on to the cache.

Wow Rob you outdid yourself. This is currently my favorite urban cache. Usually I'm not a huge fan of the urban caches as they tend to be micro's and the hiding techniques tend to be the same (small container with magnets), but this... this container was the mothership of all urbans. In fact it was so big I ignored it. Yep that's right I was looking around for a tiny little altoids tin or something and saw the side of the cache. Thought it was some sort of electrical power box and started feeling around it (was on the other side of the pole so I didn't see the sticker) for the typical little tin, couldn't feel it so I went around to the other side and Holy #$@$ it was the cache. I'm amazed that it's survived as well, as someone else said hidden right in the open. Very nice. Took a pic, I'm sure you'll know which one it is (Rob and Catherine were kind enough to let me stay in their guest house while I'm here, and I'm not complimenting this cache because of that, I truly was impressed). The cache also contained some of the better items I've scene in southwest caches. Props again Rob. Took the Samuri or Ninja card game (may end up in my "what a long strange trip it's been" cache which will be placed when I finally get back home) and left San Diego Padre's baseball cards.
