The Sint Pietersberg south of Maastricht hides a nature's treasure: the Lost Valley (Het Verloren Vallei).
Long time ago it served as a quarry.
The workers went away - the nature continues their task.

Park your car at N 50° 48.360' E 005° 41.397'.

Now choose your way up:

- the way to the right leads you on small and smaller pathes to the entrance at N 50° 48.303' E 005° 41.367',

- the way to the left is the old transport road, comfortable but not very spectacular!
Walk on until N 50° 48.192' E 005° 41.296', then turn to the right!

The cache is rehidden at N 50° 48.360' E 005° 41.312', a place with nearly no satellite reception.
Look for a stone wall and do not forget to bring the spoiler pic with you!

If you are going to search for all Caestert caches we would propose to visit them in this order:
1. Lost Castle, 2. Cut here! 3. Lost Valley.

The second cache of the Castert-tour. This is one of the great moments that I had today. What an interesting valley! It's really a Lost Valley. The dephts, the vertical edges, the caves, the rocks, the mist and the plants form a very specific atmosphere. I wouldn't be very astouned if a dinosaur appeared out out the mist. It's a pity that the garbage around here took be back to reality. (Subsequent NC log)

A very interesting "lost place". The dimensions of the tunnel openings make you think about the size of the mine behind them... My GPSr (lent from my brother in law as my beloved Meridian is on vacation... ) left me completely alone here. Not a hint of satellite reception within the valley walls . Hence, I had to use the hint and some sense to locate the cache, which was fortunately not too difficult. Thanks again for this great final of the trilogy.

Es war eine tolle Gegend, die wir sonst sicher nicht kennengelernt haben. Der Cache fand sich nach 3 Minuten Suche. Wir haben nichts getauscht, aber die Lebensmittel (z.B. offene Packung Tictac), die unserer Meinung nichts hier zu suchen haben, haben wir entsorgt.

Absolutely great location, I'm sure that I will return on a day with better weather.

Einer der besten Caches, die ich bisher gefunden habe. Wie bei Captain Cook üblich, liegt der Cache in einer absolut großartigen Landschaft. Trotz des schlechten Wetters, es hat zeitweise geregnet, war dieser Cache ein großes Vergnügen. Wie üblich nicht zu lang, keine unnötigen Umwege und keine langweiligen Aufgaben, dafür eine perfekt ausgewählte Location. Ein absolut empfehlenswerter Cache.
