From Pine Valley, go west on Old Highway 80 and find the Pine Creek Trailhead on your left (about 1.5 miles). From the trailhead take Secret Canyon Trail (Shhhh, it’s a secret) and watch the GPS for your destination. At a brisk pace it will take about 40 minute to arrive at the cache. Distance is 1.53 miles. Elevation 3,497’. Basically you will be following Pine Creek so the elevation changes will not be substantial. It can get hot. The Cleveland National Forest maintains Pine Creek Trailhead and you will find restrooms and clearly marked trails.

Pine Creek Trailhead and Secret Canyon are best known to the trail horse crowd however, the average hiker should not pass up this beautiful hike. Terrain Rating: 2.5 Difficulty: 2. The parking is at N32 50.243 W116 32.494 The park service requests that you have an Adventure Pass when you park at the trailhead. They can be purchased at the Pine Valley Market.

Had all 4 of Rob and Catherine's caches lined up for today. Unfortunately I got off to a late start and didn't leave til the afternoon, and I only ended up getting three.
But that'll be told later. As for this one.
It was a nice walk, though it's a shame the river wasn't flowing. I was sitting on a rock in the shade reading the logs when something caught my eye. The last two people mentioned that it took them an hour and a half to get to the cache because they were dodging poison oak. I on the other hand got to the cache in under a half hour, blissfully ignoring the small plants on the side of the trail that I'm guessing were poison oak (Rob and Catherine did show me some and it is on their creek bed web site, but I only noticed the few large trees and they were off the path) ....ahh well that's why I have a bunch of tecnu in my truck. Time will tell how well it works. Took and left nothing, though I did drop off some more of the very cool and rare creekbed secret canyon cards for Rob.
After getting back to my truck I somehow lost my keys inbetween unlocking the doors, telling a couple about geocaching, and taking my tecnu bath, (something only I could pull off) took me 30 minutes to find them, another delay wasn't what I needed. Ahh well, on to "welcome to the Lagunas" and then "Cedar Creek Falls"
