A two-stage cache. The cache at each waypoint is virtual. Originally, the second stage was timed, but the Internet service used as a stopwatch went to a fee-based service, so now geocachers have to time themselves on the honor system.

At the published virtual cache location is a Post Office box number. Find this number. Use the PO box number in place of the x's in the arithmetic exercises below to compute the location of the second cache.

32 58 671
+ xxx
---------
xx°xx.xxx North latitude

96 41 330
+ xxx
---------
xx°xx.xxx West longitude

If you are timing your performance on this cache, start your stopwatch now.

At the second virtual cache location is a metal man-made object with only three words and a number on it. One of the words begins with the letter "V". If you are timing your performance on this cache, stop your stopwatch now. If you want credit for your find, email the code word and your recorded time to Scout@Geodashing.org . Results will be posted in the logs here.

Please do not post any comments in the online log that might give information about the second stage cache that would give a competitive advantage to future cache seekers.

Good luck.

We found Stage 1 a couple of months earlier, but didn't go look for stage 2 because of a brewing storm. Came back to finish it, starting at Stage 1 again, and it took us 27:30. We walked and took a couple of wrong turns, to explain why it took so long. :)

I really liked the area around stage 2.

Wow, this one only took us 3 months, 1 day and 21 minutes! Started this one the day we found Two Fathoms but we had a grumpy child in the car. It was great fun! Thanks Scout.

Let me start by saying this was, by far, the most preparation I ever did for a cache. I had pretty much narrowed down the probable locations for the final coordinates to 4 likely spots before I ever left my house, and had contingencies for all, as well as just about any other possible coordinates that might have come up.

I did it in 7 minutes, 55 seconds - without a GPS. Okay, I did have a GPS with the coordinates entered as a back-up plan, but I never hit the GO TO button. The coordinates weren't the ones I had really expected them to be, but they were on my short list of probable locations.

I hear geocaching isn't a competitive sport...

1420. Now that this cache has been so drastically altered from traditional to virtual, I was able to almost halve my time 8-).

Visited first cache last week, 1/19/02 at 1250. Took nothing but left a dinosaur. Got my number and coordinates to the second stage later that evening.

1130. Took gold dollar but left flashlight and Play-Doh.
