CLAIM A GEOCACHING.COM SMILEY FOR THIS CACHE BY LOGGING IT ONLINE HERE:

It Rolled Downhill

This is a moving cache. The cache is a micro containing a plastic 35mm film can with about enough space to store a small log scroll and no pen, so if you come a'hunting, bring your own pen. The 35mm film can protrudes a quarter inch from the bottom of the cache, this is intentional. Please do not try to shove it in further or you'll break something.

The Rules
Keep the cache within a circular area of 35 miles radius centered on the state house in Austin.

When you find the cache, open it, sign the logbook, then move it and re-hide it somewhere else.

Post the coordinates on this page when you have moved it so that others can find it.
Don't take longer than 24 hours to post new coords.
Feel free to post images of your placement.

  • Don't place the container in any prohibited areas (wilderness preserves, etc.)
  • Don't modify the container in any way without consulting me first.
  • You can find the cache as many times as you want!

    ENJOY THE HUNT!

Please Post Coordinates in a NEW Log Entry, Don't edit a previous entry to add the coordinates. Posting in a NEW entry will generate an email to all the cachers spying on this cache. If you just EDIT your previous log, no one will know you've placed the cache, and what's the fun in that? :-) Thanks!

This cache made it to the Geocaching Awards dinner in South Austin. In order to fulfill the requirement of being placed in a lower elevation then I found him, I took him off the plate and set him on the table Total change in elevation, 1/4 inch approximately. Nice disguise, what some folks won't do to log a cache. Thanks, Wayne.

1- I don't know what the cache looks like
2- Didn't even know if it was STILL there
3- When I arrived (10:30AM) there were 2 drunks ( South of the Border type) on the trail in the backwoods. I had to hide until they left. and

I checked on it (2:30PM) and it was still right where I put it. I could see how you'd miss it at night. At least until you know what it is, I'd suggest searching only in daylight. I took a set of coordinates and got perhaps a better mark: N30 22.290, W097 53.472. Maybe it's better, maybe not. Hints? It's on the ground, and based on the rock-turning I saw out there, I'll add that it's not a rock, and it's not under a rock. I'd say you were within 10-15 feet of it if you were the rock turner. You can see it from the trail, and you can see it from at least 20 feet away. You do not need to do any bushwhacking to find it. The view from the area is indeed fantastic. Some junior muggles building bike ramps out on the trails in the area today. Be on the lookout for the next Evil Knievel.

I guess this is just another one of those crafty Lowracer hides.

Lowracer, WHERE ON EARTH DID YOU SEND ME????

For starters, I drove round and round the neighborhood as I tried to figure out the nearest street - the best I could do was .18/mile in a cul-de-sac. Then I cruise some more and realize it must be "up there", but how do I get "up there???" I try to climb the side of the BIG HILL but slide down on the newly planted sod. Still following my GPSr, I find a smaller section of the hill and stumble on up....

I have a good idea of what I'm looking for but just couldn't find it - searched for almost an hour before giving up due to hunger, cold and need for a potty. Where is that darn thing?????

And I was so close to being FTF.....
