It happened on a night that was dark as squids ink. Putrid Pete sailed up from Admiralty Point to the southwest side of Skeleton Island with half his crew, the other half took to the forest trails and crept in as silent as jellyfish. It was a plan that was sure to succeed -- it was the perfect ambush. They would do away with the evil Captain Flint and his men and steal the booty that Flint was taking to hide on Treasure Island.
Unfortunately for Putrid Pete, one of his men walked into a bramble of stinging nettles and cried out in pain, subsequently alerting Flint's men to the ambush. A terrible bloody battle ensued and for more than an hour, cries of pain could be heard all around. Several men were wounded or worse... In the end 15 men had spilled their blood on the beach, including Putrid Pete who met his gruesome demise just as the morning sun rose above the horizon. During the battle, Putrid Pete's bosun, Rotten Robert McFallon, searched for and found a small portion of Flint's treasure. Hastily, he hid the booty before he was captured by Flint's men. McFallon wouldn't divulge the location where he hid the loot and as a result was made to walk the plank. Some say that even to this day when the sun is in the exact right spot you can see the reflection of Rotten Robert McFallon in the water at Blood Beach. If you're lucky and have some good treasure finding skills, perhaps you can find the cache of stolen booty. You can access Blood Beach by driving to Belcarra Park and hiking on the well established Jug Island Beach Trail, or you can use a boat to access the beach by water. If it's a hot day, you'll find a swim over to Skeleton Island quite refreshing. If you would like to paddle to Blood Beach but don't have your own boat, you can rent a canoe or kayak at Deep Cove. If you decide to paddle, you'll most likely want to stop in at nearby Long John's Hideaway and Treasure Island. The cache is a 1.0 liter Lock & Lock container and is hidden quite well under a fallen log. Please place the cache back the same way that you found it -- it should not be visible without moving the object in front of it. There is a small, lightly used footpath from the main trail that leads toward the cache. Please sign the logbook, trade fairly, and log what you've traded on the website -- we'd like to keep the quality of trade items high for this cache. |

Open Log: Personal use only 2nd stop on the mini-blitz. By this time my legs were feeling the climb from Spy Glass, but this one did not proove too difficult a walk. I think I was standing on top of the cache looking at GPS and thinking 'its really close by' Mr Peabody found it a minute later. Great spot with views of Indian Arm I've only seen from the other side.

So once we are at the appointed spot, I take off going round and round to my right following fallen logs when once again I hear a voice telling me the cache has been found without incident right where it is supposed to be. Yes, it is hidden quite well. Took a hacky-sac and left a toy truck. Then we spent a little time at the beach until heading off for Spy-Glass.
