First cache in Broome County, named in honor of our daughter.

This cache is now a virtual cache. The original cache was placed on 8-11-2001, that cache was plundered sometime in the early winter of that year. We replaced the cache in January of 2002. After 2 cachers could not find it we checked on it on 9-28-2002 and once again it is gone. At this point rather than archive the cache we thought even finding the area was interesting enough to justify a Virtual Cache.

You are looking for a structure; lets see someone steal this one. Given where you are you will be surprised this structure is this far back in.

To log a find email me with what the structure is, be sure to comment on your ride to the cache area, as that itself can be a little tricky.

We suggest you park at (N 42° 07.542', W 075° 59.873'). The trail head is very near.

I checked with Rocky to be sure I had a "find" since the cache is gone and this is now a virtual cache.
It was a rainy day and I had business in Halstead, so Lodestone and I decided to drive up to Binghamton to eat at Cracker Barrel (he told me the TV weather that morning showed no rain in Binghamton!)
This is the only cache I've ever walked to with an umbrella! It was a pretty walk though we both lost the GPS signal and had to pace the last .1 mi to the cache site. Thanks for the hike in the glen!

Headed to Binghamton to do a group of caches. This was our 6th of 7 for the day. With no map of the area, it took a while to find this park. GPS was bouncing all over in the area of the cache, but lucked out and found a "sunny" spot. Once the GPS settled down, we turned in the direction of the cache and then knew where it was hidden because that's where we would have put it. Took nothing, left nothing.

We Found it!!!!! This was our third try. The first two times it turned out someone took the cache. We are so happy to know it's back in it's right place. We took a Chinese $10 bill and Black snake fireworks. We left Silly putty and a small orange Koosh ball. We also took the Travel Bug, Icicle, and plan on putting it in the next cache we find west of here. On this trip we took my 7 year old nephew and he loved it. He wants to go on more hunts with us!

I wasn't sure I would have enough time to slip in a cache while out of town on business, but what the heck! you only live once right?
I am from Rochester, NY. and drove down via route 81 and then back tracked across RT.17 to hit this one on the way home. Great area with tons of scenic advantages. It seemed as though I had the whole place to myself which was great!
I only had my GPSr with me on this hunt and no print out, I could have used one though as I came in from above and made things tougher than they needed to be. What a fantastic park, i'll have to remember this one next time I am out this way.
I also just noticed that a previous cacher psoted they left a small cache on the way out, wish I had seen that so I could have given it a go as well. I had a great time and Thank you very much for making my day a bit brighter. Took nothing because I had nothing with me to give.
I will submit pictures with this of an area away from the cache site so they are safe to look at.
thanks again!

Quinn.

Mrmeasure and the Gofer (wife) added another typical Rocky cache to our list. Beautiful spot, and typical of the locations that Rocky finds. For the first time in over 20 hunts, we lost satellite receotuib abiyt 100 feet from the cache. After three tries at taking the last reading, we could get, and using the compass and pacing it off, we were within 20 feet. Then we tried to think like Rocky, sort of diabolical and deviously, and figured the most likely spot. It was there. Took a doggy eraser, and left a 10 Hong Kong dollar note, a whistle/thermometer/compass, and a skate board key chain from Elk country cache. We loved that little area Rocky. Thanks.
