Two Dams View - Woodson

Although not extreme, this cache is not an easy one. You may want to leave young children at home. This is a long (2.5 - 3.0 miles one way) uphill hike which requires some scrambling among boulders to access the cache.

It is a nice hike, especially once you get to the actual trail and off the dirt road. The cache location affords a view of both the Ramona and Poway dams although not in the same view. The Ramona Dam is to the north and not as obvious as the Poway Dam to the west. Both dams resemble structured rock piles with roads traversing them. NBWR (no bushwhacking required) on this outing.

It is also accessible from Highway 67 via the Fry-Koegel Trail, but I am not sure where that trailhead lies.

The cache, which is a camouflaged ammo box about 12" x 4" x 7", is hidden quite well. Enjoy!
