I was hoping to set out a cache tomorrow, but my wife convinced me to spend some time with family. Plus, it is raining like the dickens here. Therefore, this Christmas Eve microcache will have to do.
This walk takes you nearly around Lake Miramar to a nice spot to enjoy a picnic lunch with the family: Natalie Park. Unfortunately, you will have to return via the same route since the path around the lake has been blocked off since 9/11/2001.
The cache is about four miles from the parking lot, but I believe this can be done by car provided you take it slow and be careful of all the walkers, joggers, bikers, etc.
At the first waypoint, sits a lone bench. The bench at this location can be used as a resting point. You may not be tired yet, but on the way back you may find yourself thankful of its existence.
|
A = the total number of bolts holding the slats on
B = the number of legs on the bench
C = the number of wood slats which make up the bench
D = the number of statues standing here

At the second waypoint, you will find a couple sign posts. These two sign posts provide enough information that, combined with the following clues, will allow you to generate the coordinates of the cache.
|
A = the mileages on both sides of the post added together
B = the only odd digit on the west side of the post
C = the only odd digit on the east side of the post
D = the number of letters in the first name on the smaller post

W 117° 05.DB2

This microcache is a 35MM film canister hidden quite carefully. Please be precise in replacing it.
