This is a multi-stage cache loosely based on "Pete", "Delmar" and "Everett," the main characters from the hilarious movie "O'Brother Where Art Thou." The main coordinates will lead you to "Pete" the first stage of the cache. Parking coords are 35.39.332 / 082.10.635. Go down the driveway past the gate and turn left onto the old roadbed right before the bridge. Terrain is very flat with little elevation change. Cache is in a clear plastic container with a white lid.

Well, those Soggy Bottom Boys have "runn oft" agin and are hidin' along the banks of good 'ol Curtis Crik. The first 'un you need to track down is "Pete." He's s purty ornery cuss an he's picked hisself a real good hidin' spot. Next is 'ol "Delmar". He's been on the run ever since he knocked over that Piggly Wiggly down in Yazoo. Ifun' you can locate that rascal, yur on yur way to findin' "Everett", the slickest member of the gang. Rumor has it he's hidin' down along the crik bank guardin' the "trasure." Ifun' you can find him, ya'll will be a Dapper Dan man fur sure. A'ter you've crossed over "Soggy Bottom Bridge," you'll need to shift over to the crik bank when you git 'bout 250 feet from the cache and get on the 'ol fishin' trail. 'Dat 'ol cache is purt neer full so be sure and git you sumpin'.

I found it! 06 Apr 2003 by  Old Joe Clark  (Finds: 4  Score: 22)    (Hidden: 10  Score: 38.5)

Whew!! I ran these boys down almost totally without the use of the gps. I found Pete with no problem, but just after I entered the coords for Delmar I lost sattelite lock, and never regained it. Could only see 2 birds from in there. I knew the general direction for Delmar, so I found him with only the clue. Well, now I had the numbers for Everette, but wasn't sure which way he'd be without the gps. I almost gave up and runn oft, but then my 2 brain cells bumped together and I had an idea. I entered a waypoint for Everette, and wrote down all three waypoints. By comparing the coords and moving the cursor on my map screen from Delmar to Everette I was able to get a general direction and go look for the item in the clue. This worked great and I found Everette in short order before he runn oft. (you had to see the movie) I took nothing, but left a mini flashlight. On the way back out I ran into the Wildlife Officer and his partner again checking fishermen. We walked back out together and had a good talk. Didn't get gps lock again untill after getting on the interstate?????
Thanks for the adventure.
Old Joe Clark
