Once upon a time this 2-Mile Pole by the foot of Geels Bakke (hill) was used by the Royal Danish Mail as an important information- and navigation aid as it marks a distance of ‘2 Mil’ (old measure where 1 mil equals apx. 4.7 mi) from Nørreport in Copenhagen which already in 1778 when the pole originally was installed was an important node in the transport-infrastructure.

The actual cache is placed in Geels Skov (forest) at the coordinates N55° 48.(e-3)(b+4)(a+3)' E012° 28.(f-1987)(a-d)(c^2)', which point at an old tree’s root.

As you now happen to be in Geels Skov you should visit ‘Holtekollen’ (N55° 48.397 E012° 29.195), where a skijump has existed since the late 1930ies. If it isn’t winter when you visit then just enjoy the view.

Before you can find the cache you must finish the coordinates. At stage 1 you’ll find the information required on the nearby sign post.

On the sign post (a) is the number of paragraphs in the first column from the left. (b) is the number of paragraphs in the second column from the left.

On the right part of the sign post a map is shown. If north is up then (c)=1. If north is to the right then (c)=2. If north is down then (c)=3. If north is to the left then (c)=4.

If the background colour of the sign post is white then (d)=1. If the colour is brown then (d)=2. If the colour is blue then (d)=3. If the colour is brass then (d)=4.

The original mile pole deteriorated as time went by. The date where the present mile pole was reinstalled (genopsat) is (e) in year (f).

The cache is a spacy dark semi-transparent 0,5 gallons box (8×7×4 in) with a clear lid wrapped in a plastic bag. Initial contents are logbook with a pencil and a small selection of trading-goodies.

Do not publish spoiler information or spoiler images. The coordinates were determined as an average of 300 counts. GPS reception near the cache at stage 2 can not be rated as good.

Der var engang da denne 2-Milepæl ved foden af Geels Bakke af Det Kongelige Postvæsen blev brugt som et vigtigt informations- og navigationsredskab fordi den markerer afstanden ‘2 Mil’ (1 mil svarer ca. til 7,5 km) fra Nørreport, som også dengang i 1778, hvor pælen oprindeligt blev opsat, var et betydningsfuldt knudepunkt i transport-infrastrukturen.

Selve cachen ligger i Geels Skov ved koordinaterne N55° 48.(e-3)(b+4)(a+3)' E012° 28.(f-1987)(a-d)(c^2)', som markerer en gammel trærod.

Da du nu alligevel er i Geels Skov, overvej da at slå et smut forbi ‘Holtekollen’ (N55° 48.397' E012° 29.195'), hvor der siden slutningen af 1930'erne har været opsat skihopbakke om vinteren. Er det ikke vinter, kan du jo bare nyde udsigten.

Før du kan finde cachen skal du færdiggøre koordinaterne. Ved trin 1 finder du de nødvendige oplysninger på skiltet nærved.

På skiltet markerer (a) antallet af afsnit i første spalte fra venstre. (b) markerer antallet af afsnit i anden spalte fra venstre.

Til højre er vist et kortudsnit. Hvis nordpilens spids vender opad, så er (c)=1. Hvis den vender mod højre, så er (c)=2. Hvis den vender nedad, så er (c)=3. Vender den mod venstre, så er (c)=4.

Hvis skiltets baggrundsfarve er hvid, så er (d)=1. Hvis farven er brun, så er (d)=2. Hvis farven er blå, så er (d)=3. Er farven er messing, så er (d)=4.

Den oprindelige milepæl forvitrede med tiden. Datoen, hvor den nuværende milepæl blev genopsat, er (e) i år (f).

Cachen er en rummelig mørk halvgennemsigtig 2 liters box (20×17×10 cm) med klart låg anbragt i en plasticpose. Initialindhold er logbog med blyant og lidt bytte-ting-og-sager.

Din log må ikke indeholde spoiler-information eller spoiler-billeder. Koordinaterne er fastsat ud fra et gennemsnit af 300 målinger. GPS-modtagelsen nær cachen ved trin 2 kan ikke siges at være god.
