San Jose, California 95122 United States Near By Caches
Hidden On: 08 Feb 2002
Difficulty:
Comments: I believe I saw plants of the poisonous variety down by the creek. I don't believe there any which block access to the cache, but it is difficult to be certain in the winter. Those travelling with children should take appropriate precautions. The park is open from 8 am until a half hour after sunset. Dogs must be leashed.

Open Log: Personal use only Need to be poison oak aware for this one. Also, not a good cache to do in sandals - the weeds were jumping into my socks. TNLN - thanks.

Open Log: Personal use only Not much of a trek, but a bit of a puzzle to figure out how to get there since I parked on the southwest side of the park. I was a bit daunted at first about crossing the creek, but after trudging along and down the banks for a while, I found a crossable, stable, six-inch tree trunk that had fallen across. When it originally fell, it rerooted itself, so it continue to grow. A couple offspring braches grew straight up from the fallen trunk, providing excellent handholds for the journey across. Up the other bank, following the vehicle tracks, soon I reached the general area and found the cache.

Open Log: Personal use only Very nicely hidden cache! We took more than one wrong turn on the way to this cache, but did manage to get there a few minutes after sunset. I won't give away any hints, but I will say that although our shoes got muddy, they didn't get wet. Took a red envelope with a dollar coin inside and left a sealed tin of Cinnamon Altoids. Great cache, we enjoyed the adventure!
