Note 2006/10/10: Connemara meadow has been closed indefinitely as the land managers decide how best to preserve this natural area. This cache can still be solved as an online puzzle, but no longer can be enjoyed on location. Sorry. This cache can be enjoyed in two ways. The given coordinates can be used like a virtual cache. They pinpoint the entrance to Connemara. Parking is nearby. Go and enjoy the natural surroundings in the middle of urban sprawl.
"Secret of Connemara" is also a puzzle multi-cache. The second cache's location is revealed by solving the puzzle. Decipher the clues, learn the coordinates, then hunt the second stage.
To solve the cache puzzle, visit the cache's home page at

I successfully determined the cache coordinates, but I now need to visit the physical cache site to claim a find.

Open Log: Unrestricted Sorry about that. I've been doing some maintenance on my Web site. I think you must have hit just when it was in a bad state. Please try again and tell me if the problem persists.

Yes!!! We finally figured it out!!! We solved Clue 1 fairly quickly, but we had to resort to Clue 2 to make any further progress (which required a trip to Connemara and a fix of the original "virtual" by Scout). Somehow both of us had missed an introduction to the key part of solving this cache during our childhoods, so we thought we were stuck. After a "Doh Moment" for which even Homer Simpson would be proud, we brute forced our way to the next clue. Once we solved one part, most of the rest then quickly fell into place. We still needed some additional info. We could not find what we needed on the web and the local libraries in our area did not seem to have what we needed, so I raced to the local Barnes and Noble before they closed tonight. I found what I needed and raced home. Thundering typhoons! A latitude and a longitude!

Open Log: Personal use only I have had to change the second clue and its answer because Connemara made some changes at the entrance to the meadow. Everything else remains the same.

Yeah! First to find another Scout cache! I did this one online; although, I plan on visiting the carefully conceived coordinates this weekend. I did verify my answer online. Thanks again Scout for a great cache!
