Easy paddle-friendly cache in the Great Swamp.
Located near the Great Swamp visitors center and Raptor trust, this cache is a fun find if you’re out for a paddle (although it can certainly be found by hiking in as well). Hiking terrain is very easy but keep an eye out for the local wildlife! Part of the fun is finding your way (so no hints there) but PLEASE make sure this cache is well and securely hidden as it’s along a very busy thoroughfare. Please take a few extra seconds to ensure this cache is not visible from ANY angle to avoid it being plundered. The cache is a 50mm Ammo can filled with stuff and is perfect for bringing the kids along to find. Again – please be sure to rehide this cache very well! |

A few caches like this and everyone thinks I'm crazy because my pants are very muddy and I keep swatting at imaginary mosquitoes. Parked in the convenient parking area and there was only one way to proceed from there that didn't require the breaststroke. From there, it was a waterlogged but level walk and there was only one creek that I had to cross. When I got near ground zero, I happened to see the cache while swatting a mosquito. Hey, I don't have excessive pride. So I'll take a quick lucky find any time! Thanks.
