A brave new fellowship of NEOGeo cachers was formed and a quest brought before them. This new fellowship was made up of a wonderfully bright squire (Arby Gee) who obtained the necessary knowledge to allow the fellowship to move forward through the quest, a young Enchanted Blue Heron who devinely navigated the fellowship through the perils, and two aspiring hobbits (Mr & MrsDotOne) who assisted the fellowship battle all the foes and elementals along the way and aide in navigation and documentation of the journey.
So...go forth, and solve The Fellowship of the Ring, and should you be successful in the completion of this challenge, then all of Middle Earth shall be saved.
The new NEOGeo fellowship meet in the previously assigned meeting place outside the Shire in Lakewood, OH, and ventured forth towards what would become the promised land. We arrived at the beginning of our quest at 11:53am, and were successful in the queries all the way through the quest, coming upong the Final cache location at 3:53pm (a full 4 hours we required). We answered no query incorrectly, but were curious as to what the 'boo boo' caches looked like (thats MrDotOne's name for the wrong answer cache locations), so after our quest was completed we purposely sought and found a 'boo boo' cache nearby another cache on the Isle.
We all have basically the same thing to say, WOW what a wonderful cache and what a gorgeous day to be out doing this challenge (here it is January 3rd - can you believe it?!?!?). This has to be one of the finest quests out there today, and we thoroughly enjoyed the entire journey. Thank you Mike for the time and effort put into such a cache.
On a final note, like other cachers before us, we found it extraordinarily helpful to have a Trails map with us.

Arrived in Presque Isle at 7:00 pm Friday night, found the first 3 stages by 8:30. Had to abandon the hunt until morning due to the park closing regulations (the fbl with 1,000,000 candlepower tends to draw attention!). Completed the next day accompanied by my 22 yr old son Benevir (the "meta-geek"), MsKardiac and her 8 yr old son Casper the cache Kid.
Excellent multi, enjoyed the Monty Python and Hitchikers Guide to the Galaxy references immensely. Took nothing, left a Bilbo Baggins metal figure suitable for painting, signed the log and posed for photos.
Thanks for the cache.

This has to be the most well planned cache ever. It is the BEST! Truly, it is our favorite so far, without a doubt. We took approximately 3.5 hours to complete it. The caches are all well placed and in good shape.
At the final site we were certain we all heard the Black Riders approaching. Unless we are wrong, they were chasing the shadow that we saw darting away from the cache. Could it have been Frodo? Perhaps it was! In any event, the cache can spark the imagination of any Tolkien lover into believing they saw anything along the trails.
We know one thing for sure... the Black Riders will be back soon, for in this cache is now the Ring of Sauron! Someone needs to hurry and claim it and keep it moving until MikeChmi places the final cache in the trilogy. Only then, when it is thrown in the Crack of Doom, will Middle Earth truly be safe from the dark powers that threaten the land!
To commemorate our visit we took a Gandolf button.
Thanks for an event we will never forget. We will be eagerly awaiting the next cache!

Completed this cache on the 4rth of July week-end. What a riot! We made 2 mistakes, but quickly recovered from our errors. We reeked of insect repellent, but it seemed better than the tick alternative, although we seemed to have brought a couple home as souvenirs. Traded cd's and left our words. Great time was had by all!

This was a great multi-cache! We had a lot of fun. We were lucky to answer all the questions correctly or we would have been going the next day in the rain. The hiding places were great. We can't wait until the next one. Thanks for a great cache!

Whoa!!! Simply the BEST!! This was a great adventure and an extreemly well planned and exicuted series of caches! We arrived in Erie on 3/15 and spent the weekend. The multicache we completed with 2 children, in one day. Great area, wonderful park and the weather was envigorating. :)
I don't want to ruin this experience for any one else by accidentally giving hints away so I'll just log some of the comments that members of our family made while caching.
Oh man! That's the best hiding spot. Wish we had it by us. Stay on the trails or you'll encounter thorn peril as butterfly girl did I just can't move. We encountered a butterfly Dragon just after Butterfly girl said how long did the hobbits walk?. Come and look at this! COOl it's way in there!. Ticks like the Fellow Ship of the Ring as much as I do. It was stuck on the book. No one's laughing about tick spray now What I said after I flung the tick out the window. Oh Man! That camogrear is great stuff!. This is some terrific artwork!. HOw many more.......picture the butterfly dragon again....Then she discovered the last cache. And I wanted more...........
The cache box was in excellant shape. We took out a Tolkien music CD, a Tolkien game CD and the one Ring (it hasn't left my son's finger since). In kind we replaced these with 2 Stridors, 1 Galadriel, and a Hobitized Oscar the travelor. Thanks for the excellant adventure.

In anticipation of the Hilton Family coming in and the first stages of the Tolkien Quilt I updated the cache a bit. I've added some more CD's to it (Anyone ever hear Spock sing about hobbits?, so bad it's good).
In addition with spring coming and more people hitting the trails. We've gotten camoflauge for a couple of the sites that stuck out more. Please make sure you camo them back up when your done and that nothing is sticking out. We also left a camera if it ever get's filled we'll put the pictures on the as of yet unmade website.

After 2 trips and a total of 4 hours I found the cache and was rewarded by being the first visitor. This was a very enjoyable cache. I have roller bladed and kayaked at the Peninsula for years but never really explored the trails much. Definately give this one a try!
