  • parking
i use 43.10.940 / 077.30.721 there is a 10 foot public right of way there but it is disguised as a lawn. i usually park on the street. enter along mailbox #25, the owner has removed the park signs they are behind his shed, don't mind the no trespassing sign to the left of the trail at the entrance. this just means don't go left there this may or may not be park land at this point.. go a few more feet and you will definitely be fully surrounded by park land..

Nice hide. I have ridden my bike past here, and rested here soaking up the view many times, and was completely ignorant of the cache.

After a long downhill hike, we found the cache. Two of our friends came along on this search -- I think they're hooked on geocaching! Took one Where's George bill and left a butterfly trying to make its way to Canada. Also took a picture of the sunset (I believe it was #5 on the roll).

This was our second cache today. We found it after some side trips caused by misinterpreting the GPS' estimate of bearing and distance (it looked like it was going to be on an island -- wouldn't that be an interesting twist on the game, to have a cache that is only accessible either by boat, with hip waders, or in low-water season?). We saw a great blue heron fly off as we approached.

Great spot. In fact, the last time the Adirondack Mountain Club had a Sunday hike in this park, I walked down this exact side trail thinking that it would be great place to hide a cache.

Using Mrs. Hiker's technique of looking for unnatural things, I spotted this one easily. We took nothing (except a picture) and left a hair scrunchy. If Geocaching really catches on and becomes a mainstream activity, I think I'll buy some stock in The Dollar Store.

Anyone planning to find the caches in this park had better be prepared for some STEEP hills. The main trail (yellow) avoids most of them, but also misses the cache sites.

Third catch of this day. Casey really didn't wanna walk anymore, so feeling a little adventurous, we decided to drive part way down to the trail. LOL

Signed the log, and took nothing except a picture. Done for this day!

was gonna try for this cache earlier in the year but with the ice and snow we waited until today. took Caron and daughter Morgan on this adventure and a adventure it was!
Parked at the coordinates you posted and walked the route as far as we could to get us close to the cache site. You ever have one of those days when you come to a fork in the trail and choose the wrong trail? well, we did that!

Plenty of hiking and up's and down's to and from the cache, but a great time it was (though Morgan looked tired)
Cache was well placed and is in great shape, we signed the log book and took a picture of us with the cache camera.
Tons of interesting logs within to read.

On the way out we bumped into the home owner at the parking coordinates and he mentioned that he got poison Ivy while walking one of the paths back there so keep an eye out! I also asked him about cutting through the property seeing as how he is so close to the path and he just smiled and said no problem at all.
I have included a pix or two with this report that does not give away the cache location, we took it away from it's hiding spot to shoot the pix before we replaced it.
thanks for the great time Lighthouse, I look forward to more!

What a beautiful area!! We were unsure where to get to the head of the trail but the walk was lovely!! Great location for the cache too - not too far off the trail but out of the way enough that people won't stumble on it! Took a book, left a deck of Mountain Dew cards....also took the Scooby Doo travel bug! Thanks!!!

We enjoyed hiking in this part of the park. We haven't been in this area before. Of course we thought the cache was on the hill surrounded on 3 sides by reeds and 1 by water. Determined we ventured out on the reeds and at our destination realized we had to cross back over. A boot full of water and 100 feet later we found the cache. Left Scooby-Doo #208379, a traveler we picked up in Green Lakes last week. Don't know his destination, but have fun placing him in another location.

Took nothing, but exchanged a wheresgeorge bill. Left Quinns new yellow hiker dude there, that I pulled earlier from his "Dudes on the Loose" cache.Took a shot of myself with the little dude with the cache camera. Left my mark in the log book. I knew this was going to be a good cache site when I saw who placed it, because I ran into Lighthouse Rocket last week by accident at another cache, and he thrived on the more rugged terrain. We wern't dissapointed! I had to move away from the cache site, into the reeds, to get a good fix on the cache. After that we went straight to it. Of coarse on the way in we took the wrong trail which made the hike more difficult than the rating. Great hike!

Found it. We parked at recommended area. Had a lot of fun. There don't seem to be any trails going from where we parked to the cache, so most of it was find ing a trail, taking it as far as it would take closer to the cache, then bushwacking our way to another trail, and repeating the process. The whole procedure was repeated on the way out. Down toward the cache, the ground very muddy, and very slippery! I took a photo of Issaquah Puppy with the cache camera.

I found your cache at 10:30 AM. I love this park with all its trails and big trees. I saw lots of birds and the snow revealed the stories of other animals such as fox, deer, turkeys, rabbits, squirrels, and mice. The trails are quite slippery especially on the steeper slopes. I snapped a picture, and took "The Samples" CD. I left a box of dominos and an original "Lion King" fast food toy. I had a great adventure.
