The coordinates above will lead you to a church which holds the tombs of Michelangelo, Galileo, Machiavelli, and other famous Italians.
This building was started in 1294. The sculpture inside will leave you breathless.
It is ironic that Galileo is entombed here. He was despised by the church in his time for putting forth the theory that the earth revolves around the sun. He was forced to go to Rome and kneel before the Pope and say that his theory was incorrect--that the earth was indeed the center of the universe.
Only after he had been dead for 200 years, were his remains allowed to be entombed here.
To get credit for this cache, answer the following question--stand before the tomb of Galileo. There is a bust of him on the crypt. What objects are in his hands? Also, what is engraved just below the bust?

Indrukwekkend om in zo'n omgeving te zijn, omgeven door zoveel "grootheden".

I just went to Florence a few months ago. I did go into the church, and remember there was a globe in his hands. I didn't get the quote so I'm not claiming a find.

It is amazing how much the world has change in the past 400 years. Where will we be in another 4, 40, 400 years?
