This is a "Where's George" Micro Cache. The only contents of this painted but small tin is several "Where's George" bills for you to log on the website located at Link to George You can also find a business card inside and if you wish feel free to add one of your own with whatever comments you wish to write down on the back of it. I placed this painted tin in a ziploc bag to keep it double safe from the weather. the Cache should be fair to easy all year round. If you decide to go after this in the spring make sure you bring your fishing rod (fly rod mostly) as this is one of the best areas for rainbow trout. PLEASE: If you decide to take a "Where's George" bill, make sure you replace it with another of the same so that others can continue with the logs of these bills. DO NOT just place an unregistered bill in the cache container. Very nice drive for scenic value to this area. Bring your camera and enjoy the sites as you go. I have included pictures and clues below if you wish to look. |

Open Log: Personal use only Since this navicache hadn't been found in over a year, something told me to look at the spoiler pic, and use the hint. Myself and SF1 are 99% sure we had the right spot, but no cache there. We replaced with a film canister and 1 WG$ apiece, along with a sheet of paper, all jammed into a baggie. I'll await Quinn's word from the pics SF1 sent to see what happens.

Open Log: Personal use only Kudos to "hornet" for suggesting back on 30 JUN 2002 that others bring a new Zip-loc bag for this wet NaviCache. If you also put a mothball inside, the mice may not chew the bag ;^)

Found this cache after a little searching. Tin was rusted shut, but we managed to open it. We took a very rusted WGD and replaced it with a somewhat new one, there were a few more inside as well. Business cards inside are quite damp and unreadable.

Open Log: Personal use only Found and fixed up with MrsMom and TheGoo. It seems that someone was there just before us. They left footprints in the snow. No trades were made but we did leave our hiking feet mark on the bills. The log needs to be retrieved / replaced and sent to the cache owner "Squid" as TheGoo calls him. Sounds like a new avatar. SQUID!

Hi Quinn!! Finally made it to this cache while doing another one hidden near by. Nice spot I have passed so many times but never stopped. Did a little maintenance work while there. Both bags were chewed up and dirty, the paper was soaking wet (therefore we could not sign), & the tin was starting to rust. We put the tin with the wet dollars in an extra heavy zip lock bag Mr Mom happened to have in his cache bag & marked the outside with the cache name & navicache with a sharpee. Unfortunatley we did not have post it notes or small paper to replace the wet stuff so the next person may want to bring some.

Open Log: Personal use only Found the cache at 3:30 pm. The bag was "chewed", the container is rusted and damp inside. We didn't leave a card. Closed it up, wrapped it in both bags and returned it to its hiding spot. Nice area. Thanks for getting us here.

Open Log: Personal use only Visited Hornet at Golden Hills Park while on the way back from a trip to Lake Huron. We had to look for at least one geocache. This is a very nice spot, but long pants would have been an excellent idea and the mosquitoes were certainly enjoying our company.

It's a good thing RobN Hood and I teamed up for this one. We took turns beating off the mosquitoes while the other read the GPS. We had a tough time of it due to the heavy foliage in the general area causing poor signal quality. We also made the mistake of wearing shorts and got into something (not poison ivy) that briefly made our legs burn. We did eventually find a very soggy cache. Bring a new zip lock or other container to replace the wet one if you can. Swapped a george dollar and hitched a ride out on a mosquito.

Found it as the third one for the day. In good shape, but both baggies are torn opn. Contents dry. One car in parking lot, but never saw occupants around. Circled the cache a couple of times before locating it. The foilage is really green and thick...added to the fun of finding it. Lots of skeeters who are thirsty and have little mini-GPS units to zero in on human blood stores. I guess we are their answer to "fast-food"

Open Log: Personal use only Found the cache on Memorial Day... a beautiful sunny day after lots of rain. We drove from Four Mile Creek Campground... found the parking area with no problem. A little tough finding the cache with my old Magellan Pioneer (good to an accuracy of only .01 miles), but persistence pays off. Took a George bill and left one. I plan on camping in Corning at the end of June. Maybe the George bill will do some travelling! Thanks for the fun!! (Note: picnic tables available at the site, or have lunch at the Wilson Boathouse Restaurant in the town of Wilson.) Geo G and POG

Hey! We headed out for this one during a weather window. It was 51, the sun was shinning, the sky was a perfect shade of blue and not a cloud in sight. We decided not to use any of the clues and found the parking lot right off. Discovered 3 cars of fishermen one of which moved his car for us. Headed out on the trails. It is a very pretty area! GPS got us to within 6ft. Found the microcache. The ziplock that held the cache tin had a whole in it. The box inside was tough to open and when I did the bills were moist but not damp....Anyway, I traded 2 bills then placed the tin inside the ziplock I had in my pocket (the group that came with us were more than happy for this as the bag contained black licorice which the gladly gobbeled) then placed both in the navicache designated bag.

Open Log: Personal use only Real nice spot. When you get to the cache location, take a quick look up by the trailers & make sure you're not being watched.I got within feet of the cache location, but as folks were up there watching me, I chose not to go for it. If any of them saw me get the cache container & make an exchange, I'm sure it would have been gone after I left.
