As the title implies, I believe this is the first Mason City cache. Located in a park with the typical riverside trail near a playground and school. There seemed to be plenty of duck, crow, squirrel and rabbit in the surrounding oak and hickory woodland.

The intent was to keep this one easy and to possibly spark some interest for geocaching in a virgin area of Iowa. The cache is 100% K-Mart from its Rubbermaid container to its logbook and several $1 & $2 trade out items. A pocketknife, nail clippers, hand warmers, AA batteries and a rope to name a few.

Just got word from a Mason City cacher (PainterGal) that "Mason City's 1st Cache" has been vandalized. All that was left was an empty RubberMaid container and shreaded & burnt logbook pages. I see no problem here. Just need a little time to re-establish it in a different location. Stay tuned.
