A virtual cache in a famous place. Can be found for two weeks (per year), only.

This is a volatile virtual cache. It can be found from the beginning of August to mid of October. But seeking this cache only makes fun during the last two weeks of September. I guess that most (all?) people surely do not visit the location during these two weeks for geocaching ...

Post either a picture, send me a sound sample (which is unique here) or answer the following question via e-mail:

On the left and on the right of the "thing" (which makes that unique sound) are some drawings. What animal is drawn on the very right?

And that's the main "challenge" of that cache:
You will enter the location probably at N48 07.809 - E11 33.187, N48 08.090 - E11 33.060 or N48 08.146 - E11 32.980. When you enter, start logging your tracks with your GPS receiver and stop logging when you're at the cache! As I guess that almost nobody will go straight to the cache, the tracks will surely look funny. Use some tool to download the track and to get a figure. Post your figure! Below you can find my track. (I am using GPS TrackMaker, see www.gpstm.com, and then just made a screen snapshot.)

My favourite location during the two weeks (although not daily) is around N48 08.092 - E11 32.965.

Ich mache es einfach mal meinem Vorgänger nach. Mein Besuch war bereits im September 2003 gleich am 1. Tag des Spektakels. Strahlender Sonnenschein und Menschenmassen ohne Ende!

Nach einen Bier in der nahegelegenen großen Bierhalle, sind wir ein wenig übers Oktoberfest gewandert. Während der ‚Öffnungszeiten’ wird mich wohl niemand überreden können hier her zu gehen. Heute war es aber recht interessant, den Abbau der Hallen zu beobachten.
An den oben genanten Koordinaten konnten wir dann ungestört ein Foto machen. Tondokumente und Tracks währen aber sicherlich witzlos. Wir konnten den geraden Weg nehmen, und es war recht ruhig hier gegen 17:00 Uhr.

Seit fast einem Jahr-damals Neueinsteiger bei GC-warten wir aus beinahe nächster Nähe darauf, diesen Cache loggen zu können und nun haben wir uns endlich hingetraut. Der Wahnsinn!!! Jede Menge Attraktionen und Menschen und wir mittendrin. Die Cache-Koordinaten konnten wir direkt ansteuern, da uns the unique sound gleich auf die richtige Spur führte.

My second visit to this location was more sucessfull. The unique sound sample is not set up yet, but I could answer the question this time :)

Mein zweiter Besuch an dieser Stelle war erfolgreicher. Das typische Geraeusch war zwar noch nicht eingeschaltet, aber wenigstens konnte ich die Frage beantworten.

Heute um 16 Uhr habe ich das Viech gefunden. Es gibt zwar dort viele selsame Geräusche, aber das gesuchte ist unverwechselbar. Prost!
