You could
visit the Lurgrotte, a famous cave in that area. The entrance on
the Peggau-side (N47°12.967', E15°20.616') is about 1.3km south of
this cache's starting coordinates. It also has an entrance on the
Semriach-side (N47°13.625', E15°22.795') where you could walk to
after stage 2 (about 1.7km if you walk along the path).
Unfortunately a walk through the cave from

one side to the other is impossible. On the Peggau-side there are
guided tours from April 1st to October 31st, 09.00 – 16.00 if
there are at least 5 people. Tel: +43 3127 2580. On the
Semriach-side there are guided tours from April 15th to October
31st, 10:00-16:00, also for

at least 5 people. Tel:+43 3127 8319 or +43 3125 2218. Going into
the cave on your own is not possible.

From the Semriach-side
you could walk further up to Semriach and then continue to Gert &
Volker's href="http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?ID=34722">Steintor

cache.

You could also try to find the cave on the north-side of
the Badlgraben, which I wanted to include in this multi-cache, had
I found it. The coordinates I got from the map are
N47°13.751',E15°20.916'. Maybe some other geocacher finds a path
leading there and sends me

the coordinates and a description.

Du könntest die
Lurgrotte, eine sehr berühmte Höhle, besuchen. Der Eingang auf der
Peggauer

Seite (N47°12.967', E15°20.616') liegt in etwa 1.3km südlich der
Startkoordinaten dieses Caches.

Die Höhle besitzt auch einen Eingang auf der Semriacher Seite
(N47°13.625', E15°22.795') den

Du nach einer 1,7km langen Wanderung von Abschnitt 2 erreichst.
Leider ist es nicht möglich

die Höhle von einer Seite zur anderen zu durchwandern. Auf der

2218. Alleine darf man die Höhle nicht

betreten.

Von der Semriacher Seite kannst Du weiter nach
Semriach und von dort weiter zu Gert & Volkers href="http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?ID=34722">Steintor

Cache wandern.

Du kannst auch nach der Höhle in der Nordseite
des Badlgrabens suchen, die ich auch gerne

in diesen Cache miteinbezogen hätte, falls ich sie gefunden hätte.

Stage 1 / Abschnitt 1: N47°13.629',
E15°20.543'

On the other side of the road from the
car-park you will see a turret that once was used by

the army to guard passage through the Mur-valley. On the entrance
to the turret there is a plate where you are told when there are
guided tours and what the organisation of the army that

used to be there was called. Add the four digits of the hours the
guided tours begin and end and

call that number B. Take the number of the organisation(LWSR.XX,
where the Xs are two, maybe different, digits) and add those two
digits. Call that number A. Take the first letter of the name of
that installation(Sperre XXXX, Xs are the name) and assign a
numerical value to it (Z=1, Y=2, ... A=26). Add 3 to the result
and call it G.



Now walk a little bit to the south(N47°13.559', E15°20.572')
where you will find the

beginning of an old road with a no-driving-sign. Beneath that sign
there is a plate where you are told

the telephone-number of a club. Take the last digit of the first
number(beginning with 031...) and call that digit C. Take the last
digit of the first numbers area-code(the digit before

the /) and call it E. Substract the last digit of the second
number(starting with 066..) from the

last but one one of the same number and call the result K.



Go even further south until you come upon a very long
'building'(N47°13.500', E15°20.547') thats falling apart. On it
you will see a sign celebrating an anniversary of that building.

Add the three digits of that number and take the last digit of the
resulting two-digit number.

Call that digit D.



Now you can start your walk up the Badlgraben. Enter it behind
the Kerngast-inn. There is

also a sign showing you the way. After a short walk the path will
lead across several slopes of

rock where iron steps and ropes have been mounted, to make it more
easy to cross them. Count the number of iron steps on the first
such rock you come across. Multiply it by 2, add 1 and call the
result L.

I=B-3, F=C*2

Gegenüber des Parkplatzes
siehst Du einen Panzerturm, der einst dazu benutzt wurde um die
Durchfahrt durch das Murtal überwachen zu können. Beim Eingang zum
Panzerturm befindet sich

eine Tafel auf der Du erfährst wann hier Führungen durch die
Anlage stattfinden und zu

welchem Verband diese Sperre gehörte. Addiere die vier Ziffern der
Stunden zu denen die

Führungen beginnen und enden und nenne die Zahl die Du erhältst
B.Addiere nun die beiden

Ziffern aus den die Verbandsnummer besteht(LWSR.XX, wobei die X
durchaus verschiedene Ziffern

sein können). Nenne diese Zahl A.Ordne nun dem ersten Buchstaben
des Namens der Sperre

(Sperre XXXX, die X sind der Name) einen Zahlenwert zu (Z=1, Y=2,
... A=26). Addiere 3 zu

diesem Wert und Du bekommst die Zahl G.



Gehe nun ein Stück nach Süden (N47°13.559', E15°20.572') bis Du
zum Anfang einer alten

Straße an deren Anfang ein Fahrverbotsschild steht kommst. Unter
diesem Schild befindet sich

eine Tafel auf der die Telefonnummer eines Vereins steht. Die
letzte Ziffer der ersten

Telefonnummer (die mit 031...) anfängt ist die Zahl C. Die letzte
Ziffer der Vorwahl der

ersten Nummer (die Ziffer vor dem /) ist E. K bekommst Du indem Du
die letzte Ziffer der

zweiten Telefonnummer (fängt mit 066... an) von der vorletzten
Ziffer der selben Nummer

abziehst.



Gehe nun noch ein wenig weiter nach Süden bis Du zu einem
langen, recht baufälligen

'Gebäude'(N47°13.500', E15°20.547') kommst. Darauf kannst Du eine
Tafel sehen die zum

Jubiläum dieses Gebäudes angebracht wurde. Addiere die drei
Ziffern dieser Zahl. Die letzte

Ziffer der Zahl die DU so erhältst ist D.



Nun kannst Du Deine Wanderung den Badlgraben hinauf beginnen.
Der Weg beginnt hinter dem

Gasthaus Kerngast, beim Wegweiser. Nach einer kurzen Wanderung
führt der Weg über einige

schräge Felsen an denen eiserne Trittstufen und Seile angebracht
wurden. Zähle die Anzahl der

Eisenklammern auf dem ersten solchen Felsen, multipliziere diese
Zahl mit 2, addiere 1 und Du

bekommst die Zahl L.

I=B-3, F=C*2

Stage 2 / Abschnitt 2: N47°13.AII', E15°2D.EFG'

Here you are in front of a building that's also begining to fall
apart. Count the number of windows that look in the SW-direction
(where you probably came from). Only count those in the part of
the building that's made of stone, not the part that's made of
wood. Substract 2 from that number and call the result H. Count
the number of doors in the stone-building that look

in that same direction, substract 1 and call that Number N.


M=I-N

Nun befindest Du Dich vor einem Gebäude
das ebenfalls schon anfängt auseinanderzufallen.

Stelle fest wieviele Fenster in Richtung SW (Wo Du
höchstwahrscheinlich gerade hergekommen

bist) schauen. Zähle nur die Fenster im Steingebäude, nicht die im
hölzernen Anbau. Ziehe von

dieser Zahl 2 ab und das Ergebnis ist H. Zähle die Anzahl der
Türen in der selben Seite des

Steingebäudes, ziehe 1 ab und nenne das Resultat N.

M=I-N

Stage 3 / Abschnitt 3: N47°13.HMM', E15°2K.LNE'

Here you are right next to a stone arc. There is a cave close to
it (to go in further than a few meters you will have to walk on
hands and feet or even crawl). There also is a sign telling you
what you are not allowed to do in and around the cave. Take the
last two digits

of the year that is mentioned on the sign, add them, take the last
digit of the result and call it P. Take the last digit of the
month (or of the day, it's the same) and call it Q.

Du
befindest Dich nun neben einem steinernen Bogen. Gleich in der
Nähe befindet sich eine

Höhle. Um weiter als nur ein paar Meter hineinzugehen mußt Du Dich
auf Händen und Füssen

fortbewegen oder sogar robben. Neben dem Steinbogen befindet sich
eine Tafel auf der steht

was man in um um die Höhle alles tun darf und was nicht. Addiere
die letzten zwei Ziffer der

Jahreszahl auf diesem Schild. Die letzte Ziffer des Resultates ist
P. Die letzte Ziffer des

Monats (or auch des Tages) ist Q.

Stage 4 / Abschnitt 4: N47°13.HIP', E15°2K.LPQ'

Here's another cave. This one is bigger than the last, but still
you can only go inside for a few meters without crawling. It seems
to be a popular place among boy- and girl-scouts.

They have a fireplace in the entrance of the cave (bad for the
bats and other animals inside when

the smoke gets into the cave) and they also have written their
names next to the cave entrance using dirt from the cave and
charred sticks. Among the names and paintings you will also find
four handprints with names below them, the number of the group
above and the day of their visit below. There is one letter that's
in three of the four names. Assign a numerical value

to it (Z=1, Y=2, ... A=26), substract 5 from that value and call
it S. The number of the scout

group is GX where G means they are from Graz and X is a number.
Add 1 to that number and call it V. Add all the digits of the day
and the month they where there and call the result W.


Die nächste Höhle. Diese ist schon größer als die vorige, aber man
kann trotzdem nur ein paar

Meter hineingehen ohne am Boden kriechen zu müssen. Sie scheint
unter Pfadfindern sehr

beliebt zu sein. Es gibt dort auch eine Feuerstelle im
Höhleneingang (schlecht für die

Fledermäuse und anderen Tiere wenn der Rauch in die Höhle zieht)
und einige Pfadfinder haben

mit verkohlten Ästen oder Lehm aus der Höhle ihre Namen neben den
Höhleneingang geschrieben.

Außerdem kannst Du dort vier Handabdrücke sehen, unter denen Namen
geschrieben stehen.

Darüber steht die Nummer der Pfadfindergruppe und darunter das
Datum ihres Besuches in der

Höhle. Es gibt einen Buchstaben der in drei der vier Namen
vorkommt. Weise diesem einen

numerischen Wert zu (Z=1, Y=2, ... A=26), ziehe davon 5 ab und Du
hast S. Die Nummer der

Pfadfindergruppe ist GX wo das G für Graz steht und X die Zahl
ist. Zähle zu dieser Zahl 1

dazu um V zu bekommen. Zähle sämtliche Ziffer des Tages und Monats
ihres Besuches zusammen

und du erhältst W.

Stage 5 / Abschnitt 5: N47°13.HSN', E15°2K.LPV'

The third cave. This one is closed with a grating and locked.
Count the number of horizontal bars in the door. Only count those
visible in the right part of the door, do not count the
door-frame. Call that number O. Assign a numerical value to the
first letter of the name of

the cave as given on the plate next to the entrance. (A=1, B=2,
... Z=26), substract 1 and call

the result R. Substract the last digit of the telephone number
from the last but one one of the same

number and call the result T.
J=T-S, U=O-V, Y=R-I, Z=W-(R+F)


Höhle Nummer 3. Diese Höhle ist mit einem Gitter
abgeschlossen und versperrt. Zähle die

horizontalen Gitterstäbe der Türe. Zähle nur die die Du im rechten
Teil der Türe sehen

kannst, und nicht den Türrahmen. Diese Zahl nenne O. Weise dem
ersten Buchstaben des

Höhlennames, so wie er auf dem Schild neben der Höhle steht, einen
numerischen Wert zu (A=1,

B=2, ... Z=26). Ziehe von diesem Wert 1 ab und Du erhältst R.
Ziehe die letzte Ziffer der

Telefonnummer von der vorletzten Ziffer derselben Nummer ab um T
zu bekommen.
