Our "live" webcams update once each minute from the East Aurora Advertiser Office at 710 Main Street, East Aurora, NY.

Cam 1 is usually a view from the second floor of the Advertiser office. The view is to the east, south or west and we rotate on a random basis. On Tuesday afternoons and evenings you can see the Advertiser production staff at work on the newspaper (if we remember to move the camera!). In good weather we often point the camera east or west so that people walking on the sidewalk or more visible.
Cam 2 is most often pointed out our front window so that folks can walk up and be photographed. We often have a monitor in the window so that those walking by can see themselves on the web.

So here’s the deal. Send a picture of you in front of this webcam to ESFKids@yahoo.com and we will send you something cool for your computer. Exactly what hasn’t been decided yet, but it’ll probably be some neat graphic or musical clip. Eventually I plan to make this a lot better and hide another cache, and the reward for doing this cache will be the cords for that hidden cache. Yes, someday…

Oh, and you’ll obviously need a friend to take this picture of you in front of this webcam. Any screen capture program should work perfectly. For proof that it really is you, hold up your GPS or put your arms in a big “V” for victory symbol. If you get the smaller cam (cam2) where you can have pictures taken of just you and not the street so much, hold up your GPS and a peace sign with your fingers. That should work. My first virtual cache! I have bought so much stuff on this strip (guitars, novelty craft items...hehe), that it was awesome to get my picture taken.

Almost forgot this was listed on Navicache! Very proud to be the first Navicache finder since 2001!!! I have already logged and the other site, and sent my pic to ESFKids Thanks for the webcam cache, and also for being one of the early pioneers of local caching, and listing your caches here.

We have been wanting to get to this area since last summer. What a nice town. Took a picture in front of the building.

Our first virtual cache! We were here once before on 12/7. Took the kids and decided to let them do their Christmas shopping at Viddlers. We decided to find the cache first and having not carefully read the directions we proceeded to stand in front of the webcam. Butterfly girl and Eversure were way humiliated as we held up the GPS and made a V sign for 5 minutes (fearless said that that was how long he figured we needed to stay there to be sure a picture was logged). Then when I got home and attempted to log the visit I read that we were the ones who needed to take the picture. So that brings us to tonight. Headed out after school with entire family. Pennysaver was open so we walked in and a man there was most accomodating. Said he would lean out the window with the webcam and make sure that it took out picture..........That brings me to the two pictures logged below. These were taken at 4:55. One is back o Hiltons..As they faced the webcam for the picture. The other is of them facing me with the web cam elf up above in the window. Thanks for the adventure. All agreed that this guy was most nice! :D

We decided to stop in East Aurora after work. The idea behind the webcam cache is surely
an interesting one to say the least. This is a great way to get people into town to do some
last minute shopping!! The weather wasn't the greatest and chickenlips was in a hurry to get
out of the rain. After one quick picture we ran for cover. Fortunatly we didn't start
melting....Thanks for the cache...
