This is a micro cache accessible from the rest area parking lot of both north & southbound lanes.

The cache location is wheelchair accessible, but you will need help to retrieve the cache.
This cache has 3 interesting things:
1. The lanes have switched sides, see map.
2. An old restored bridge
3. The Memorial

While at the rest area go inside and look at the information about the bridge and memorial, that are posted on the wall.

Please go to N 35°50.572 W 080°07.863 to see the Memorial

Although I've lived in the Triad area for about 6 years, I was not aware of the memorial or the bridge. Now, my boys (ages 13 and 7) and I are acquainted with both. My 13-yr old spotted the well placed cache. Good one! TFTC

An easy find just after dark, if I remember right. It's in a place worth seeing. TFTC.

Hunted yesterday evening. I don't know if the snow or the darkness or the Highway Patrol hampered us the most, but we couldn't find the cache even though GPS says I was standing on it. Is it possible that it washed away in the floods this past summer?
