Prepare your eyes for a really nice view by »Bastrup Sø« (Lake Bastrup).

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Bastrup Sø is situated in an east-west oriented subglacial stream trench south of Lynge. The lake is part of the system of valleys and ridges created by melt water going from Furesø and northwest towards Buresø. In the middle of this landscape Mølleåen, which begins at the eastern part of Bastrup Sø and ends in Øresund, is found. A few hundred meters west of Bastrup Sø is a watershed where the water runs either towards east to Bastrup Sø, towards west to Buresø or towards south to Damvad Å or Bunds Å.

In the Middle Ages the passage between Buresø and Bastrup Sø was one of the few available ways across the stream valleys on the way between Roskilde and Helsingør. Just north of Bastrup Sø the ruin Bastruptårnet (Bastrup Tower) is found. The tower with it’s very thick walls was built in the first half of the 12th century. The surroundings of Bastrup Sø are preserved. Both the lake as well as the rest of the upper Mølle Å valley has been appointed an EU-habitat area where extra care is taken of animals and plants.

Bastrup Sø covers an area of 79 acres. Average depth is 11.5 ft and the greatest depth is 23 ft. The volume of the lake is 38.8 million ft³.

The cache itself is placed at the coordinates N55° 48.φλμ' E012° 15.θψδ', which will lead you to a tree. The cache is to be found between the roots of this tree.

But before you will be able to find the cache – of course you can always try without …;) – you must study the sign at Bastruptårnet (Bastrup Tower). Here you’ll find the information required to solve the following elementary math problems:

φ = The number of characters in the last line in column 4 minus 11.
λ = The number of characters in the first line in column 2 minus 23.
μ = The number of characters in the last line of the German text multiplied by 1½.
θ = The number of characters in the first line in column 3 divided by 6.
ψ = The number of characters in the last line in column 1 minus 20.
δ = The number of characters in the first line of the English text minus 31.

The cache is a white 1 liters cultura-’yoghurt’-container. Initial contents are logbook with a pencil, First Finder’s Certificate and a small selection of trading-goodies.

Enjoy caching ...

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Lige nord for Bastrup Sø ligger ruinen Bastruptårnet.

Her finder du de nødvendige oplysninger for at løse nedenstående små elementære regnestykker:

φ = Antallet af tegn i nederste linie i kolonne 4 minus 11.
λ = Antallet af tegn i øverste linie i kolonne 2 minus 23.
θ = Antallet af tegn i øverste linie i kolonne 3 divideret med 6.
ψ = Antallet af tegn i nederste linie i kolonne 1 minus 20.
