This is the first in a series of three historical caches.

To locate this cache you can either walk, bike or ride a horse. The NORMAL starting point will be Surrender Field off of Surrender Road. Then start the yellow Historic Tour at N 37° 12.455 W 76° 30.294. If driving, you can park at N 37° 12.146 W 76° 31.972.

The OTHER starting point will be from the Newport News Park side. You can park at N 37° 11.274 W 76° 33.461. From here it's a nice bike ride or walk, but either way it's a worthwhile trip in a nice park. Be sure to watch out for the Swamp Fire cache along the way!

The cache has been re-stocked with: Dice, a guitar pick, an orange clamp, a 'Sandy' Sponge Bob toy, a stingray stencil, a parachute guy, a beach ball and a 'Slither' the snake Beenie Baby.

A couple final notes: The tree vegetation is getting pretty dense in areas so your GPS will most likely lose it's position at times. AND, as with all caches, please make sure the cache is securely closed! BEWARE of the mosquitoes!!!

Found this one out in the open about 90 feet from where my GPS said it should be. Lots of logging going on in the area. Great hide. TNLNSL. TFTC.

Same here. Catching up with logging finds on Navicache. We found this one 10/17/2004. Pretty dry then. Nice place to ride bikes.

Just catching up with logs on Navicache! Found this one on August 15. Nephew laid logs to walk to retrieve it from the swamp because of all the rain. It's on dry ground now!
We enjoyed this cache.

Found this cache from a listing on the other site. Dropped the family off at the Waterpark and went caching. Thanks for the fun!

This was the 2nd today of the 3 Yorktown caches. GPRs wasn't sure what to do under the tress at first but once we got going didn't have much of a problem. Ants had started building a new home on the cache lid but dry and OK otherwise. Skull is still there.

Didn't take anything but left a wheresgeorge.

Thanks for the good cache spot

Since the Colemans have added their caches here, I may as well log those finds. With no GPS, this turned into a grid search that I almost missed completely for not looking closely enough in hiding spot. Great cache by the Colemans, bad orienteering by me.
