Located on the grounds of Incarnate Word University
This spring is the origin of the San Antonio River. It is surrounded by a stone wall and it looks like a well. There is a sign on it describing its history. The spring sometimes is dry in times of drought if the underlying aquifer is too low. To get credit for this cache, email me the answer to this question-- at what level does the aquifer have to be so that the springs will start to flow again? Go south and check out the footbridge. The ground around here is like a sieve with all the little springs popping up. Lots of waterfowl, beautiful scenery. |

Parked by Natatorium and had to use the bridge around back to cross the river to get to the Blue Hole. The Spring is flowing very good.

This is a really nice spot. Too bad for us, a thunderstorm was busy filling the aquifer while we were there. Thanks for the fun, Wayne
