In a new San Antonio Park

San Antonio is so hard up for parkland, they let the developers take all the good stuff, and then leave us the leftovers.
A meeting at City Hall deciding purposes for available land must go something like this--
DEVELOPER-Well, we've poured concrete over everything here as far as the eye can see.

CITY HALL-But Mr. Moneybags, we do need to leave this little green area over here so the Sierra Club doesn't get their pants in a bunch about open spaces.

DEVELOPER-I didn't think I had left any little green area anywhere.

CITY HALL-Well, sir, you see, there is one little ratty duck pond over here with an equally ratty little space around it.

DEVELOPER-Well, gol'durn it son, why didn't you tell me? I'll get my bulldozers over there tomorrow.

CITY HALL-Actually sir, you can't build anything on that property. It's in a flood plain, the soil is like a sponge, and when it floods, trash and debris are strewn all over the area, and nobody ever bothers to pick it up.

DEVELOPER-Are you sure we can't build a condo here?

CITY HALL- No, sir.

DEVELOPER-Well, then go ahead and make a park there since it's not good for anything else. Put my name on it and while you're at it, run a story in the newspaper about how choked up I got at the thought of uprooting those ducks. Why, I had tears in my eyes when I thought of draining their little pond.

And this is how we get new parks in San Antonio.

Cache is in a tupperware container painted camo green.
Under sticks & logs.

How in the world do you find these places? We figured to have to cross the pond from where we parked almost up to the time we found it. Took a car and left a bottle opener. Thanks, Wayne.
