BOAT OR SNOWMOBILE REQUIRED

This is a super micro cache with a blue lid on a city-owned island park in Lake Minnetonka. Use the topographic map link to see the island location.

The island is mowed during the summer, has fire pits (bring your own wood), and is a popular place for camping (first come basis). There is a kid-friendly sand beach on the west side of the island.

Access to the island is by boat or snowmobile. The nearest public access is at N44 56.060 W93 37.500.

I was intending to make this a park-n-grab, but the ice at the Pembroke access looked suspicious, so I walked out to the island. Search took longer than it should, and then my batteries quit. (spares were a long windy walk back at the car... good planning eh??) I had already got a good fix so I just expanded my search. Cache was slightly frozen in place, but no real problem for a caching fanatic. TFTC

Ominous clouds were threatening, and an ill wind was blowing no good from the North, but I kept up the hunt. Kept thinking about what I'd say in my DNF post....it wasn't pretty. But my persistance paid off, after an hour, or so. Glad I brought snacks, and a beverage. Now I get to say, "Good Hide"! Thanks for the cache.
BTW - the "O" ring had a blow-out....it's pretty well shot...I'll start carrying them in the future. Log was just a little damp
