An easy park–n-grab. Located in historic downtown Floresville, Texas.
Floresville, Texas was named for early rancher, Don Francisco Flores de Abrego, who established his ranch about six miles northwest of the current location in 1832. In 1833 the nucleus of the present town was founded on land donated by the Flores family; it became the seat of Wilson County in 1885. With a growing season of 285 days, Floresville is a marketing point for watermelons, flax, cotton, beef cattle, dairy and poultry products. Sandy soils of the area are especially suited to the production of peanuts, and the town's biggest festival salutes the lowly legume during the second weekend of October. Wilson County produces 30 million pounds of peanuts each year. A huge peanut on the courthouse lawn recognizes the peanut crop grown in the area. Go to the coordinates listed. Once there, go approximately 160 feet at a bearing of 36 degrees. You will find a monument to a time capsule. To claim credit for this cache, email me: 1) The year the time capsule was buried? and 2) What year will it be opened? Of course, don’t include the answers or any clues in your log entry. |

On a business trip, bagged this one. Neat court house and square which still has a vibrant small town look. Thanks,

Open Log: Personal use only This was DEFINITELY worth the trip!! Peanut Fest is a great celebration with a small town feel. We caught the last part of the parade and walked around for a while afterward with Trey and his sister. The nice thing about that is we did not have to email him the answer, we just walked up and told him. The hypnotist they had there was great! May have to back again next year. Thanks, Wayne
