This two-part cache will take you on a half-mile trek through Huckleberry Swamp.

A beautiful boardwalk meanders through the heart of an open swamp, a shrub wetland, a forested wetland, and a hardwood forest.

From the listed coordinates you should find a length of shim stock (a tapered piece of wood about twelve inches long and an inch and a half wide).

Written on the shim are the coords for the cache itself, which is nothing more than a decon container containing only a logbook. Bring your own pencil or pen.

The Swamp is open from 9 AM to 7 PM and is Closed on Mondays for research purposes.

The cache won't be winter accessible.

Huckleberry Swamp is a project of the Olga Fleisher Ornithological Foundation, Inc. (OFOF), a non-profit foundation established to preserve habitats for birds and other wildlife. Please be respectful of the area.

Bring mosquito repellent and enloy your walk.

Our first find. Great walk in a beautiful setting. Lot of fun.

Found the gps settings. However, we did find two shims on the boardwalk. They were broken off and nothing recorded to continue our journey.
Seeing that the last update was in 03, wondering if this is still being used?
Had a wonderful walk. Was worth every minute of being there.

Huckleberry Swamp is closed for the winter months. The shim and film cannister have been removed. The Swamp will reopen in the Spring. Thanks to all who visited this year.

I went in the wee hours of the morning to do this one. Great day and nice and cool to go caching. I never knew this spot was here and I am glad I came.
Thanks for such a fun time to start the day.

I look forward to the next adventure.

First to Find...last to log. Had a great early morning walk; lots of life starting to stir after their evening slumber. Found the cache just when the Parks Department came to open the gates (over an hour after sunrise). TNLNSL.
Thanks for the hide.
