Please don't post any information about how you grabbed the cache; I want to keep this a quasi-mystery and don't want others to have help in knowing where to look. Thanks!

One of the nearby organizations is called The Mad Housers -- http://www.madhousers.org-- and its volunteers build temporary, emergency shelters for homeless individuals who would otherwise be living out in the elements. The shelters are given away to the organization's clients for free. (I am a volunteer with this non-profit organization and I thought it would be neat to place a cache here.)

The cache is located in an industrial complex, so be safe and avoid the random sharp/rusty stuff, potholes, toxic waste, etc.

First, let me say that this is just a plain ol' micro. You are not going for gold and glory. Just a little signing, stamping, whatever is your wont.

While you're reading this description, just keep in mind that the cache kind of borders on lame and that there's not some big James Bond scene which lies ahead. Okay? Okay.

Know that the cache will be difficult to get unless you happen to have special characteristics, skills, or equipment. I don't mean SCUBA gear or a rocketship or anything like that. You'll see what I mean when you're there.

Now, I don't want to spoil it for anyone, so if you're risk-averse and you just can't stomach the possibility of wasting a trip, go ahead and decrypt the hint to see what I'm talking about. If, however, you're a risk-taker and willing make two trips if you have to, then leave that hint encrypted and go for it!

Once you're there, if you don't feel completely comfortable going for it, don't. Just return when you're better prepared/equipped.

Please DON'T use or attempt to use anything which would directly or indirectly damage the cache container and/or the surrounding area!

Finally, please don't post any information about how you grabbed the cache. I don't want others to have help in knowing where to look. (If you just gotta tell, please encrypt whatever you did/used to get the cache so that your log entry doesn't spoil it for others.)

If you happen to visit when we're around (see the Events page on the above website for a schedule), poke your head in and say hi!

Be safe!

03/23/2003: Update! In my never-ending quest to emulate Erik's caches, I have camouflaged the cache container. Actually, it was more to foil any non-cachers than cachers, but I'll stick with the Erik-esque angle. ;)

04/29/2003: There may be a truck blocking your view of the cache. If that is the case, you may need to engage in more thorough searching.

Did this one on GC.COM in July 2003.

-----------------------------

I was assisting the owner of this cache (hi Andymand) in a run for some materials to use by the nearby organization. Being right there led me to do the cache (I had planned to do some down this way but haven't gotten around to it).
So I searched around the area and didn't find anything, except a nice pipe in the wall with a large wasp nest (i got them later with some bug spray, but future cachers beware). I finally gave in and used the hint. Still took a minute or two, but finally reasoned it out.
Signed log.

Thanks for the hunt.
Kenneth
