Not only found the cache but also a large mosquito population. Luckily motion found this before we were drained of blood. Good hiding spot. Thanks for the hide

Another Monday morning playing hooky from work. Nice autumn walk, skeeters weren't too bad. TNLNSL.

After fighting off the mosquitoes I found cache. Not too far into the swampy area - nice hide! Opened the cache and found two cans of mosquito repellant - both were empty. Signed book and scooted out before donating too much blood to the skeeters!

Beautiful trail- loved it! We did this one on our tandem bike and got caught in the rain. Made for a wonderful Sunday afternoon. Thanks for the hide. Took a picture- #5, I think. Left nothing and took nothing but memories.

Combined my 2 hobbies, biking and geocaching, and rode on the beautiful greenway trail. Found the cache easily but had to do a quick dash in and out due to the plethora of mosquitos.

Nice leisurely walk along Greenway under graying sky. Just as we found the cache tho at 2:50PM, the thunderstorm started. Made quick note in log and got soaked walking back to car. Didn't ruin the fun tho, would rather cache in rain than be home wanting to go. Thanks for the 2nd out of 6 hides for us today.

This was a nice one after work. I found it right at dusk.

The colors on the trees were awesome and it was a nice easy trail.

It was too dark to take a pic but I signed the book by flashlight.

I took the golf tees and left a light stick.

A nice, easy walk down a beautiful trail! Chance was having fun watching all the planes overhead, too. :) Our readings were kinda funky for a few minutes but finally settled down and we found the cache easily.

We took a Hot Wheels car for Chance and left a keychain flashlight, our calling card, and a Where$George bill.

Headed over during lunch and was rewarded with a nice bike ride and a Mustang TB. Left a log and was on my way for a longer ride. It is a pretty cool area with all the branch trails and pond to the north. Thanks for the hide.

This was a nice hike along the trail. Like being in a tunnel as it was getting late and you could see the light at both ends. No trouble finding. Gimpys coordinates are always dead on. Signed log, took/left nothing. Cache camera was full. Mosquitoes were bad so got out of there fast. Thanks Gimpy for a nice end to a perfect day of caching.

Found cache about 7:15pm. Make sure to bring your mosquito repellent as the closer to the cache you get, the thicker the mosquitos become. I swallowed one for dessert. They almost drove us away, however you can't get that close only to give up. Nice trail, we had to stop every so often to watch the planes taking off for the wild blue yonder. SueShe

Found it at 4:40 pm. Our last one for the day. Had to race out of there to beat the mosquitos. Took nothing, left nothing.

This one was a lot of fun, but bringing a new navicacher is a whole new ball game. Watching Ladybug find her first cache was very exciting!!! Her eyes lit up like a Christmas tree when she discovered it. She was so excited!!!! I still remember our first cache, and Im sure she will too!

A bit of advice...bring the bug spray...mosquitoes have teeth!

  Ladybug's first cache!

My daughter and her husband have been telling me about this site for a couple of months now. Every time I would call them, they were gone caching. Or when I did talk to them, thats all they talked about was their new hobby. So I finally had to see for myself what the big deal was!!!!

After reading the forums and browsing around the site a bit, I knew then I could get into this. Especially when I see my daughter and the grandkids having so much fun all the time. They are always talking about hiking, sightseeing, what animal they saw, and some picnic they went too. So after purchasing my new gps, we all decided to go on this one, being so close to home. I never would have imagined having so much fun. At first I thought the gps was going to be hard to figure out, but I was wrong. Its easier to use then my own vcr!

I followed the arrow down the path and right to the cache. It is amazing that the cache has been there in the middle of nowhere for almost a year!!

I signed the log and left a george bill and a set of ladybug salt and pepper shakers. I took nothing, just enjoyed my first experience as a cacher!

Finally found my first cache. Nice hike for the beginning geocacher. Took a picture. I'm the big headed guy with the Etrex Legend. Took a buck and a necklace and left a Hotwheels Ferrari and a WXXI keychain. Thanks Gimpy.

The wife was recovering from a sprained ankle but was itching to get out so we hiked the tracks to here. Great spot - an easy enough walk but long enough to make it interesting. Nice hiding spot too!! Thanks for a fun afternoon!

Well Gimpy you got us again. You may recall that we could not even open the cache box at Egyptian Hike because of the downpour. This time it was a snow burst, we did get a few words written in the log book, as I wrote Mrs. Rocky would blow the snow off the page, she was having hard time keeping up. We saw a huge oak tree that I would have liked to have measure. Last week I visited the old growth forest on the west side of Hemlock Lake that was written up in the paper this past fall. Several of the oaks trees I measured there were over 9 feet in circumference. The tree we saw on the way to your cache was as big as those. If you see Road Kill let him know that Mrs. Rocky hollered “Huckle Buckle Beanstalk” twice to make up for Doug from channel 13. We had a lot of fun visiting four caches today and it looks like winter will not slow us down.

Road Kill and co-worker Woodhauler finally took Channel 13 News geocaching. Doug Embledge and cameraman Paul met us at the parking spot for Greenway Trail Cache by Gimpy. No I didn't take the hat.

The story:

We went out to the parking area at the cache site, got out of the car, showed Doug a cache box (so he'd know what we were looking for) and I handed Doug the GPS. I told him I've done this a number of times and he was going to take the lead and do the finding on this run. There was only the slightest of hesitation but he took it. So I instructed him to hit "GoTo", select Greenway (for Gimpy's Greenway trail cache), and we were off. It was a very pleasant walk down the old rail bed with the cameraman (Paul) running all around us to get the shots. At first I don't think Paul realized how far 0.40 miles was. Needless to say he got tired and asked us to slow down. We stopped occasionally to do a few little interview type shots to give Paul a break.

When we got near the cache there was a very conspicuous potential hiding spot. We had to wait for the cameraman to get into position and when the search just got under way Doug says: "There's a boxy looking object in under that log. I peered in and sure enough Doug had beat both Road Kill and Woodhauler. I wanted to tell him it doesn't count because he didn't say "Huckle-Buckle-Beanstalk" but I kept my mouth shut. He He. At any rate he opened the cache, filled in the logbook, took a snapshot of the threesome on the in cache camera, swapped out and re-hid the cache. All on film! I did mention to him to keep the shots tight and edit out anything that might reveal the cache location. The Paul assured us that that no one would know where the cache is after is editing. The best part was that the trees were not interfering and Doug was amazed that the GPS was right on. I have to hand it to Gimpy for this very nice hide. It couldn't have been better suited for this outing.

All was going fine until Doug said lets do an interview here and, with the camera 2 feet off your face he wants to know why I go caching. I stammered through that portion but hopefully that part will be edited. Other than that I was wired for sound the whole time and I kept the Road Kill banter going. Woodhauler seemed to handle the interview spot a little more professionally and then chatted with Doug all the way back to the car.

For me it was more than a story because I feel Doug genuinely had a good time. For that I am glad.

Road Kill

Took the wife & kids out for a nice walk and a Geocache adventure! It was the wife's first Geocache adventure with the kids & me and she seemed to have a good time. My trusty Garmin ETREX put us right on target without problems.
We made our log entry & I took a picture of the kids & wife. The kids took out a Wheresgeorge.com dollar bill, the toy top, the handwarmers (it was a very cold day), and the set of AA batteries (for their Gameboy). The wife took the whistle (to keep the kids in line) and I took the Garcia Y Vega cigar (nice!)
We left some toy rubber balls, a couple Matchbox cars, a small kids activity book, and a nice PC game that I have grew tired of (Messiah).

This is an area we hike occasionally, but this took us a little farther down the trail than we usually go. My Mag 315 kept jumping, but finally took me back to the same place twice, and settled to within 10 feet of the cache. Took a picture of Penny and myself with the camera (Mrs. B. waited on the trail), took a lanyard, left a Sacajawea buck, signed a quilt square. Thanks for a nice election day walk!

Found cache around 1:15PM on a beautiful Fall day. III+ settled in at 29'.

Cache contains some great useful items: toilet paper, batteries, cigar, magnetic toy top, poncho, handwarmer, compass, vegetable brush, waterproof matches, whistle & lanyard. I took an un-Georged dollar bill & a pic of myself. I left the usual (2) WheresGeorge.com bills for free tracking. The quilt squares are a great idea, Gimpy, but please clarify if they're to remain at Greenway & collect Rochester sigs or become a Hitchiker & collect distant sigs.

On my way out, I met some squirrel hunters with semi-automatics. I also met Quinn & Caron coming in. I joined them, comparing each of our III+. After they found the cache, we all trashed-out, especially a foil-covered box that someone left hanging from a tree after sighting in their shotgun.

Great job Gimpy!
Very nice area and a soft walk. I came with caron on this hunt and we ended up bumping into Yardboy while here. We signed the logbook and took some pictures of ourselves and the group and replaced the Cache as we found it. We stuck around to compare IIIPlus readings at the cache site seeing as we all had the same unit. Hunters were shooting their .22cals near by so got a bit spooky but I am certain we were safe and sound. Thanks again for keeping me busy!

And yes!!! Yardboy beat us again by minutes.

After I got home from this adventure I realized I had left my sun glasses at the cache site so I had to drive all the way back out and take the walk again for a second time...No Biggy! I figured it would also give me the chance to see if anyone has been there since my last visit.
When I got back to the cache sure enough my glasses were sitting right above it where I placed them, I put them back on and set down my keys so I could look through the cache box log book to see if anyone else has been around. After finding out that I was still the last log entry I closed the cache back up and replaced it as it was. I then walked the distance back to my truck wayyyy down the trail.
Once I got to the truck I sat my back on the back of it and went to open the door which was locked...guess where my keys are? &^$%#%%#$% all the way back at that %$#%# cache site!!!! Sooooo, once again I walked the %^$## to get to the &%#$ cache so I could get my &&$T$#% keys to get back into my ^%%#$#$ truck.

God how I love caching! =)

We were first! Issaquah Puppy and I headed out this semi-summer like morning, and found the cache. I snapped a picture of the two of us with the cache camera, and then I signed the log, and signed one of the quilt squares. I took the two where's georges, and left a wheres george, and a non wheres george bill. Nice cache Gimpy, thanks!
