Getting There: It makes a nice 3-hour hike up from the south if you park along Westridge Road and hike along Mandeville Canyon Fire Road. From Sunset Boulevard in Brentwood, turn north onto Mandeville Canyon Road, turn west on Westridge Road, and park near the gate at the top. Be sure to read the parking signs!

Nestled atop scenic Mt. San Vicente in the Santa Monica Mountains lies an abandoned Nike missile radar base and this charming retro cache, which contains some small treats for visitors.

Soak up the paranoia of the 1950s, bask in the warm SoCal sun, and be sure to write down your name and E-mail address.

The photo was taken from the point where the cache is hidden. If you're curious about the structures in the photo, well, you'll just have to go have a look. But they are very 21st century, very high-tech, and very connected to our daily wellbeing.

I searched for this cache today. Couldn't find it. Nice area though. I wish there were a good active cache here.

But since this one is rated as easy and I couldn't find it, and since it was placed in 2003... I'm not sure if it's there.
