In the 1800's it was rumored that Silas R had a treasure people hoped that they would inherit. Silas being surrounded by his fortune hunting family decided to hide it so it would remain safe. Upon his demise no one seemed to know what or where this treasure had been hidden. The town went on wondering while Silas' cousin Billy Frey moved away taking the secret with him. So once you find Billy's place you will be that much closer to the treasure.

Billy says be sure to stop by and rest your weary bones, because the end of the trail to the big tree is Killer!

This was a good one to begin caching in on the fun with my two youngest girls (8 & 3 1/2). My youngest was the first to spot it, after minimal help from Daddy :)
The girls refer to Geocaching as Treasure Hunting, so this was an aptly named cache to get there feet wet. Even in the snow the cache was easily spotted.
My youngest took the fake $100 bill, and my oldest took a pencil. Both traded in pencils.

This Cache was a cache hidden when I was part of Deltateam. My sidekick who still belongs to Deltateam asked me to find it. We did. We were off by a little at first but then back-tracked and found it. Hi Deltateam!!!

We rode the bikes to this one on a very nice trail. Good coords. made for an easy find in a very nice place for a cache. Donna took a puzzle left by Rust-O-Junk the week before and left a book on covered bridges. Thanks for the nice hide.

Canal was busy today. The lockkeeper was painting a panel box. Three different groups of bikers passed me on the towpath. Five Japanese tourists were taking photographs of the Mid-Lakes Hireboat Hemlock as it rose in the lock heading west. Watch that first step into the cache it is tricky.

Tried to find this cache late last night when we saw it listed, but no map was showing yet on the site, so wasn't sure where we were headed, just knew it wasn't too far from home. Found a great trail, walked it only to find we were on wrong side of the water with only 500ft to go. :( Gave up (it was almost midnight at this point) and decided to try again this morning (only to find out that we would end up on same trial again to do another cache I knew was in area, but we hadn't taken the coords w/ us last night). Now this morning w/ knowing where to go, it was a nice easy walk to cache. 1st to find at 7:43AM. Left a keychain, took nothing. Thanks for the relaxing morning hike.
