This cache requires a boat to access.

The coordinates are to the boat ramp and NOT to the cache. To locate this cache you will need to find these three caches first...

GCG8MG - Banana Wind
GCG8MH - One Particular Harbour
GCG8MJ - Kick It In Second Wind

In the lid of each is part of the coordinates to a floating dock on an island. You will need them all.

The waypoint is on private property, but the owners have (gladly) given permission for geocachers to access it. If anyone is there just let them know that you are a geocacher. If you have small boats and choose to walk you may pull your boats on shore.

The dock is a waypoint. There are a few 'No Trespassing' on shore near the dock. The coordinates to Incommunicado are on the back of those signs. You may get to Incommunicado by water or land from the dock. Water is easier if it has been raining lately. The round trip is a little over one mile between the floating dock and the cache.

In the lid of 'Incommunicadio' is the coordinates to 'Growing Older But Not Up', the last cache in the series. The cache is a medium size plastic container.

The cache was replaced on 12/7/03 after being stolen. The new cache is in a slightly different and more difficult-to-find location, thus a hint is now offered. The coords on the No Trespassing signs has been updated to match. The poison Ivy is all gone, but watch out for VERY low tides if using a motor.

There is a free boat ramp here:
28 47.103
82 37.124
Boat rentals (power and kayak), food and drink are also available next to the ramp.

The caches in this series are:
GCG8MG - Banana Wind
GCG8MH - One Particular Harbour
GCG8MJ - Kick It In Second Wind
GCG8MN - Incommunicado <- U R HERE
GCG8MQ - Growing Older But Not Up

No one home when we arrived. We found new coords very easy. Then the fun began. Took the wrong river fork and had to return to the dock. Here we thought less than half a mile we will bushwack. Horseflies found us and began thier feast. Quick return to the dock and back on the river. Found a shorter less mean bugs way in. Took flashlite and left one of our bandana's.

This one was pretty funny and little awkward at first. As I approached the initial set of coordinates in my kayak, I could see that the owner was indeed home. In fact, he was sitting on top of his unfinished house in a lounge chair, gazing out over the river. I think he knew right away what I was after. Before I could say a word, he yelled out and said 'Come on in... Have a cold one'. That's exactly what I was hoping he would say.

The owner was really nice. He gave me a tour of the property and showed me some of his rare and endangered orchids that were growing on the trees. It really amazed me how anyone could live out here in the boondocks like this. He told me everything has to be brought in by boat. There are no roads, no electricity, no water and no cable TV! Sounds like paradise to me.

After locating the 2nd set coordinates, I headed for the mystery cache site. Luckily, I didn't take Infosponge's route. I think I know where he went too. It didn't take too long to find the cache. The mosquitoes did there best to slow me down, but I was determined to find it no matter what.

Excellent cache! Very well stocked. I traded my Camouflaged Mini-Maglite for the Silver Buffalo Commemorative Coin that Infosponge left behind. Awesome cache item! It's great to find something like this every once in a while in a cache.

Onward to the next cache... Growing Older But Not Up.
