Found this one today with my lil sister and cousin. Not an easy one to get too, but it's not too far into the woods either. I knew this place was there, but I hadn't been back there in a while.

Let me just say something about Pineway Ponds park. This used to be a nice park until they stopped doing the upkeep. The trails that used to be in the park were nice, but now they're almost completely overgrown and they are under water almost year round. The playground itself used to be one of the nice wooden ones, but they took it down and put this silly plastic one up. So now the park is only appropriate for very young kids. And just this year they took all the swings down. I don't know what they're doing, but this park is going down the toilet quite fast.

Still had this on my GPS unit and was passing by so I thought I'd give it a try. Didn't know it was discontinued. It's very wet back there but I was able to locate it around noon. The contents are dry and it took me a while to find it. There's a lot of growth and it's hard to manuver

We found the site, but no cache....believed a long deep hole on the side of the mound could possibly be the spot? Bullfrogs were in full chorus but of no help with this one. We will be watching for updates and then returning when a find is logged

Had a very tough time getting to the area, then looked for about 25 minutes before giving up and taking a very wet route back. Will be scanning these logs to see if anyone finds this - if so, I will return.

Nice wet walk to the cache site. Found with no problems. After I had finished signing the logbook and was getting ready to put cache in it's hiding spot; heard footsteps in the distance. Sat around for a bit hoping they would pass me by...But GaryDog found me at the cache.
Took nothing; left nothing.
Thanks for the hide.

Found this one at 5pm.

I didn't know this area was here. There were a bunch of kids playing nearby so there must be a playground there somewhere.

The cache was in good shape but a little light so I took nothing and left a few items.

Thanks Gimpy!

This one was the toughest one for me yet! Very wet ground and lots of foliage, plus that scary loud frog...but I was determined, and I found it on my first try. Took some hair stuff, left some nail stuff. :)

There were a few people walking about so I ended up leaving the area and coming in via a different, strange entrance - even though it's pretty close, I don't recommend this route to anyone. Very wet and non-scenic. I took the easier way out and was glad of it.

Tough, but I was SO happy when I found the cache!

A little muddy, but this was our second one today and we're already muddy - so what the heck! Park was pretty busy, but we went away from all that to the cache. Heard the bull frog croaking at us. Found it pretty easily. Tried to cover our muddy tracks. Took a Celtic cross, left a book on tape.

This find was the family's first attempt in looking for a cache. Went to where the GPS said it should be and saw it right away although the kids all walked past it. Had a lot of fun.

Left some bead necklaces gotten during Mardi Gras. Took a Mickey Mouse key chain.

Gimp,
Was a nice day in the 50`s but it didn`t dry the swamp out to much, LOL. The cache is right where the coordinates say that it is, within a feet feet anyway. Nice hide, nice mini adventure.

Once we found the trail this one was easy to locate. A tight spot to get into. Wish we were shorter. Used the wet ones to wipe up the blood from the pricker bushes. Path is very wet. Took nothing, left nothing.

Well, aside from the mud and water and such, it was a pretty easy find. The gps was a bouncin' when we went the wrong way. After a while, we didn't worry too much about the mud and just trudged on.

Signed the log book and took the dollar coin, and left a disney keychain and a denver bronco mini mug.

Thanks for the walk!

Whoa Gimpy...you da man!! What a most interesting cache and very well stocked with desireable trading items.... Although Sweety gal and I left the last cache with wet feet, I decide that this cache was just the ticket to end a day of geocaching, besides it's going to be an easy quick walk in I told the fam. The walk in from where we parked was easy except that we took a good 5 of earth with us each time we stepped (hey Sweety wants to look taller so great effect). Made it to the cache site and by that time I had added to the collection of fish swimming in my boots.....Fearless spotted the box right off and must say that we were all amazed at where you placed it. Just seems that the persona we have attibuted to you made us think of you as Super Cacher for doing this one!! Trading...We took a set of batts, a where's gearge for the navicache with his name on it, a glostick and a travelor (I'll be making the little guy a mini signature quilt/backpack and placing him in our soon to be hobbit cache). You did such an awesome job with this one that we left some of our best stuff...Bob James Ivory jazz CD, baby wipes (parent that come here with their kids should appreciate this), a lazer pointer with interchangable ends, a wire puzzel and a glitter goo bath set. Thanks again for such and enjoyable hunt.... Hiltonfamily

FOUND ON JULY 25, 2001

Took a couple tries to nail this one. The Mag 315 led me all around it, finally the path for the last 20 feet became evident. Not an easy one for the large and inflexible ;-). Thanks for a bit of a challenge!

Our second find today. 11:30 AM, mid 50's. This is our second attempt at this one. Tried a couple monthes back. A bit easier with fewer leaves now... but not by much. This one had to be our most difficult to date. (It was obvious once I found it). Plenty of bushwacking. It was not suitable for the entire family (wife and sleeping baby in back pack could not make it through all the thick stuff), but I'm glad the 6 yr old was small enough to retreive the box. We took some Play-doh and some "authentic Russian" pins. We left a deck of cards and a paperback - Bonfire of the Vanities. A super hide, Gimpy. Thanks.

FOUND THIS CACHE BACK ON JUNE 17TH 2001

Caron and I went out to find this cache early morning. I have a feeling Gimpy was out tipping a couple of soda's back (Beer) when he placed this one, I bases this on the contents. I zero'd right into where it was placed, but it was Caron who spotted it and made the find first. This is what I get for being lazy and not going the full distance to confirm my thoughts. Skeeters were not too mad this morning when we went. We decided to take the more scenic way to the cache site via keeping the waterway company. I signed the logbook and left a CD set of the Radio Mystery Theatre and also traded wheres George dollars. Took the rubber ducky for the tub!
Thanks for the fun again Gimpster, I owe ya lots for keeping me busy.

I found it. I was not sure if the cache was still there as there appears to have been some recent bulldozing to withing about 100 feet of cache. It was pretty muddy and wet through the bulldozed area. I found the cache and signed the log.

Nice hiding spot Gimpy! I thought my GPS unit was going bad! I had my 4 kids running all around the place trying to find the cache! No one just walking these trails will casually find it, that's for sure!
Took us about 20 minutes, but we eventually found it! My 4 kids got a kick out of the little kid toys in the cache; that made their day!
We left a Kodak pen light (it is disguised as a cigarette lighter), some authentic Russian pins I picked up in Moscow (May 1989), a couple of WheresGeorge.com dollar bills, and some AA batteries for GPS units in need of a new set of batteries (like I was).
Only down side was that it definitely was a little wet approaching the cache. We parked on Canal st. instead of the park & I think that was a good choice (as it was easier approaching the cache).
