Cache located in the Bristol hills. It is in a state multiple use area with paths & some fairly steep terrain. Cache is a retired 30 cal. ammo box, green with white lettering.Contents include the usual inexpensive stuff,a log book & a couple of wheresgeorge bills. 30 cal. not very large so won't hold big items very well.Nice area with paths up the mountain.Vegetation gets pretty dense but my III Plus & eTrex Vista held satellites all the way to the cache.Bug spray might be in order but I had no problem without it.After a rain, footing could be touchy.Cache is only about 20 ft. off the path, but oh what a path.Cache co-ordinates are averaged between both my III Plus & Vista. Enjoy----Gimpy |

Judy and I went on a snowshoe hike and as I was looking at the GPSr I saw that I had loaded this cache last year and never had a chance to find it. We decided to go for it! The coordinates were perfect! Took nothing, left nothing.

5th of 6 finds today. Nice walk in the woods. Didn't find climb that bad since it went across the hill instead of straight up. No trouble finding. Cache in good shape. At cache, GPS said 0.00 feet to go!!! As we were loging in a couple of hikers went by on the closer path. Don't think they even noticed what we were doing. Logged in, took nothing - left nothing. Thanks Gimpy for the nice hide and helping me get into this sport.

Had to try finding this since it was between 'The Jumpoff' and home. Left my wife in the car and hiked, the long way, through very squishy (ankle deep) spring thaw. Once I found the trail I got a good workout. Proud of myself for finding this without any printed material from the website.

Open Log: Personal use only President's B-Day Week - Son went skiing at Bristol Mt., I went caching. Nice cache spot! I should have cheated, I parked in the 'other' parking spot, it was still a nice hike from there. Amazing winter, being able to GEOcache in February in the Bristol Hills! I was a little hesitant about going for this cache, since it hadn't been visited since Oct. 27th. Still there - in good shape. Thanks for the hunt Gimpy.

This was the 2nd of 4 caches today. I thought geez this is pretty easy. The trails were pretty nice. I got within .12 miles of the cache, and did not see any trails going that way. Issaquah Puppy and I left Otter in one of the open fields hoping she wouldn't get shot by the hunter we saw prowling around. We tried to use our FRS radios to keep in touch but the batteries were dead. I wished I was wearing bright orange. I started bushwacking...actually it was crawling up small rabbit runs under thorned vines. I did this for almost 100 feet then I ran into a trail. I followed the trail up, and a couple small offshoots later Issaquah Puppy and I found the cache. I left a book, and took a Wheres George dollar. I followed the trails back and easily found my way out without facing the thorns again.
