Cache is located in the Tinker Nature Park on Calkins Rd. near the border of Henrietta & Pittsford. This is another cache that will be fun for the whole family.
Cache is located in the Tinker Nature Park which is a very well maintained & family friendly park in Henrietta near Pittsford.Well manicured paths take you back through a nicely wooded area where all forms of wildlife will be seen. Plenty of picnic tables & a little playground for the kids. Park is also home to the Hansen Nature Center which has all kinds of educational stuff that's really interesting.I'm sure you will enjoy your visit. Cache is a 50 cal. ammo box, green with white lettering. It is located about a couple of hundred ft. off the path & vegetation should not be a problem. You might want to bring a little insect repellent if you plan on staying for a while.Cache contains the usual stuff, a log book to fill out & some assorted little inexpensive trinkets. When placed, the ground was a little damp but no standing water. Not sure what conditions are like after a rain, etc. Overhead vegetation was not a problem for my GPS.------------------It has been brought to my attention that NO pets are allowed on the paths at the Tinker Nature Park.-------------------------Gimpy--

With trails as groomed as these, I felt like I was breaking some kind of law by straying from them. Pretended my GPS was a camera to throw off the rangers (in my mind). My 8th of 13 for the day.

Went with Nomad, my bro and petey on this one, very nice litle walk, beautiful area, little cold today though. Had to take a little time off from cacheing to move into a new apartment, but we are back in the game and ready for some competition. As Nomad already stated, we took nothing and left some WG bills.

FOUND ON JULY 10, 2001

Approached the area on the wrong path, so instead of a short few steps off the trail, tiptoed through the poison ivy for a few hundred feet. Nice spot in a nice park. Thanks for bringing us there!

Took my wife and kids back to this one... Went a few weeks ago with the guys from work, but thought this was truly one for the family. My 6 yr son found it first this time - our third of the day. Played at the park for a while before it got to dark. Thanks.

Well Gimpy, I finally found one of your caches on the first try. Nice hide - loved the location. Set out from work during lunch with a couple of other guys, including Road Kill. I was the first of the group to find the cache. Didn't take or leave anything, but signed the log. Will bring the wife and kids back to this one.

On my second visit to the park I left Issaquah Puppy at home, and actually got to look for the cache this time. I found the area without much trouble, but GPS was being a little wacky under the trees. I used my compass, and got a bearing, and that helped. A very nice cache for a lunch break from work. I took a wheres george, and left another one in it's place.

Our GPS had a hard time getting enough data to start us off but from there it was smooth sailiing...

Great ride in and a beautiful park! Appeared to be a lot of poison ivy..what do those leaves look like for sure? Anyway went to Bills training camp prior to this and although the youngest coughed (allergies, summer cold?) we perserviered.

NOw all of the Hilton's have found at least one cache. Took an M&M toy and a bandana (youngest to work it into the quilt she is making). Left a Horse book, glow in the dark explorer and Inspector Angelica.....

Thanks for the hunt!!
