Whew! Took white then yellow trail. Saw no sandpit. It was raining lightly and we looked and looked and looked for about an hour - or at least it seemed that long. High humidity - we were dripping sweat!. GPS must have been taken over by a spirit - we were all over the place. Put new batteries in and finally found the cache. Beautiful woods and nice hide. Took Fancy Fish TB, Signed your log. Team Durant

Open Log: Personal use only Found it aroun 7:25pm. Tried finding a way to get to this spot when we were in the park two other times during the past month. Couldn't quite figure it out and ran out of daylight. On our way to our usual parking area we saw a new Trailhead Parking sign and took a chance. It got us to the area we wanted to be in. Our unit read 50' from the coordinates. Took nothing, left nothing. Thanks for introducing us to this area of the park.

After a report that the cache was out in the open, I checked it, and found it in the place where it was supposed to be. I took the time to get a new set of coordinates, on my newer, more accurate GPS unit (thanks yet again Quinn, I love it), and tweaked them on the cache listing.

Open Log: Personal use only Hinge, this was our 4th and final cache of the day. We had planned 5 but you did us in. Mrs. Rocky is never going to let me forget that she wanted to go what would of turned out to be a much better, easier, safer route. Still I liked this cache the best as it was by far the most challenging. In reading the log book most of the previous cachers seemed to comment that the coordinates were off. I think that they were right on and you gave them problems by not choosing the obivious hiding spot. Good job, still trying to convince Mrs. Rocky that this is fun.

Open Log: Personal use only I ran into 2 Geocachers (Quinn & Lighthouse Rocket) in the parking area - Lucky for me. The trip was an 'experience'. The trails were steep and slippery and I'm a little gimpy. We found the cache after a while. 3 GPS's giving 3 different locations. All were ~50-60 feet off, probably due to the tree cover. Same comments from previous visitors. I don't think my Garmin eTrex Venture is the best in tree cover, I could have a real problem when the leaves come out. To finish off the 'experience' we decided to find a 'better' way back than the slippery trail in. Big Mistake! We wound around the nearby gravel pit and had to backtrack along the Irondeqoit Creek bank to get out, should have taken the Topo Map along! Overall a nice experience, the cache, the extended hike, and especiall meeting up the other Geocachers. Late longin - because I logged the wrong cache site like the rookie I am.

I found this cache today with help from two other Geocachers I met at the main entrance to the park. Ryan (Lighthouserocket) and another fellow pitched in to make this a team cache adventure. I am certain I would not have found it without the help of both of them. The cache was in great condition and well placed. My coordinate readings at the cache site were a bit off but in the area I can understand why. Pretty slick area in the snow so watch your step!

Great job Thunder! Nice location and a very nice hike. I've been to Ellison many times, but I never saw that part before. I believe we accidentally(on purpose)found the private property you warned about. that was interesting too.
