The cache is located on a hill in Carson City, NV bearing a large white Landmark Letter "C" on its easterly slope, commonly known as "C" Hill. The "C" Hill summit is at an elevation of 5756 feet so watch the weather and be on the look out for snakes.
The Gateway to "C" Hill is located at N39°08.966, W119°46.177, elevation 4646 feet. You can either park there and hike to the cache site, approximately 1.44 miles away, or drive to a "second" Parking Site at N39°09.305, W119°47.071, elevation 5448 feet, approximately one mile away. However, you will need a 4X4 vehicle, with high clearance, if you chose to drive to the "second" Parking Site. At the Gateway and counting from the right, you can take either the 2nd or the 3rd 4X4 road to "C" Hill. I have seen serious off-roaders drive beyond the "second" Parking Site described however, I do not recommend it. Between the "second" Parking Site and the Cache Site you will pass Benchmark PID KR1676 last recovered in 1951...if you have the time, see if you can find it! Have fun, be safe. go slow and enjoy the beautiful view of the surrounding area. The theme of the cache is the letter "C". So the description of each of the item placed in the cache should begin with the letter "C". I found this one with the help of fellow TahoeCachers TahoeBerne and MtnPoet. It was a beautiful afternoon with perfect temperatures and a wonderful view of Carson City and the Sierras. My compliments to GeoRat for the great location and the well stocked cache. I will now add this cache to my list of all time favorites.
