Downtown Hutto

Did you ever wonder how Hutto came up with the name for their school mascot? To claim a find on this cache, please email me with the answers to the following three questions:
1. What type of animal are you standing in front of?
2. What happened to make Hutto think of this animal to be the mascot?
3. What street are you on?
Take some pictures of the kids, but please don't post them here. I don't want any spoilers.

Verified under the name kiltedcacher. Very interesting story. We had wondered why a Texas high school had this mascot! Thanks!

Just going through my found list, and updating here on Navicache.
Had a day of use-it-or-loose-it today, so I decided to hit the Great Uncharted North-Land (Williamson County, that is) Had Plans to hit Round Rock, Hutto, Taylor, Georgetown, Liberty Hill, and Leander made to it about half of them. This was #8 of 10 successes before time, the weather, and my feet all ran out.
A lot of folks make fun of this mascot, but after seeing why they picked it, its kinda neat .and this town is CRAZY for its mascot .after taking all my notes, I got a sample a little Hutto Hospitality while throwing back a couple of cold ones and the nearby bar and grill. I recommend it to anybody passing through..
Thanks for the great virtual!

I love just walking around these tiny little towns, but rarely take the time to do so. Thanks for an excuse to pull off of the highway!

Stopped by on the way to the Texas Challenge. I have played in volleyball tournaments in Hutto so I was familiar with the story, but it was still an interesting spot. Thanks, Wayne
