Any easy virtual, placed with the view in mind. Equally suited to day- or night-time visitation, provided the weather is clear. Located on National Trust property with (pay and display) car parks nearby. Terrain 2 because the final stretch of about 30 metres is a 2 in 1 gradient. A simple virtual cache, at one of the highest spots in south east England. At this location you will find a monument with a practical purpose. Who is it dedicated to, and what is 25 miles away? E-mail your answers, don't post them here even if encrypted. As with The View From Reigate Hill, the real value is just in being there. The location is easily reached on foot being a mere 200 metres or so from the car park at 51:14.91N 0:18.54, or another the other side of the objective, sited opposite the local National Trust shop and restaurant. During the day you will have to pay for parking. The Country Park is quite large - about 1000 acres - and worthy of an afternoon wander on a pleasant day. You will still find wind damage to the trees from several years ago, with the woodland only just beginning to recover in some places. |
