Located on the top of Red Top Mountain at an elevation of approxamately 11,300 ft. This cache is a small, white pill bottle containing a log book and a few coins and pins. The real treat here is the exhilarating climb and the fantastic view from the top! You can access this peak in a number of ways, some being easier then others. I was at White Pine Lake that day placing another cache, so I summited this peak from the West. It was not the easiest summit I've attempted. When I finally got to the top the view was outstanding. American Fork's Twin Peaks were to the East so I decided to go for them. Once at the Twin Peaks I was glad that I put the cache on top of Red Top Mountain because I thought the view from there was much prettier then from Twin Peaks! I hiked back down into Snowbird and back to my car parked at the White Pine Lake trailhead. I'm guessing it was nearly 10 miles roundtrip. Not bad for three peaks in one day! If you're going to attempt this cache please use extreme caution!! |
