This is one of my favorite things to do, Find a Rocky Cache in a removed, beautiful area. This was a classic example of why I like doing your caches Rocky. I went to work today and caching really wasn't on my mind when I got there. Things changed quickly once the sun came up and the day was turning out to be a beautiful early November day. The weather was cool, calm, and sunny. Another plus was that it was the middle of the week and usually not too many muggles are around where you decide to locate a cache. I asked my boss about getting the rest of the day off and he said he already knew that I would be asking because I was scanning the cache pages and printing out some cache sheets. I left work and made it to the cache parking location by noon. I was surprised when I arrived at the parking area to find another vehicle parked there. It turned out to be a DEC vehicle so I wasn't concerned that another cacher was ahead of me. Off in the distance I could hear a chainsaw running but that seemed to be off in another direction. Now the fun begins, I started my hike down through the woods and as I traveled down I saw many little ravines and I wasn't sure if I should cross them or stay on the path I was on. I eventually arrived at the creek and it was flowing nicely due to all the rain we've had lately. I was thinking to myself at this point that this is such a typical place for a good Rocky hide and I was not to be disappointed. This is why I really like Rocky caches, you see a removed area and are treated to a nice hike through an area that you probably would have never been to if not for seeking a cache. The coordinates took me right to the cache and I have to admit that this was a nice hide, it blended in really well with the surroundings. I anxiously opened the cache and retrieved a wooden coin and a lottery ticket that I decided to scratch off once I returned to my truck. In trade I left a nice Bandanna and I signed the logbook. I took my time hiking back to my truck and enjoyed the forest on this late fall day. Once back to the truck I decided to check and see if this was a lucky lottery ticket. I scratched off the top row and was quite surprised when 3 $10,000 amounts appeared, I knew that this was to good to be true so I turned over the card and realized that I was duped! Good One, you got me. I really wasn't a loser though because this caching experience was worth more than the imaginary prize on the lottery ticket, if I had won I would have spent the money and it would be all gone, but by doing this cache I have something that can't be spent or taken away, I have memories of a wonderful walk to a beautiful area on a perfect fall day. This was our day for Rocky caches. We grateful that the hike for this one wasn't the same as the others we did. Had a little problem with the GPS near the cache area, but once it settled in we found the cache.

Found this one at around noon today with KillerB & Bo. 2nd of three for the day. We started with Jersey Hill Fire Tower, this one, then shot over and did Klipnocky.
KillerB spotted this one first. Unfortunately, it was pretty visible thru the camoflage...We attempted to hide it better than it was left.

There are some cool forest service roads up here.

Found this with two of the grandkids. Undoubtedly one of the more picturesque spots we've been to. I'm amazed at all the state lands around. Geocaching is a great way to see them. Keep it up Rocky. (Not to forget Mother of and Mrs. R.) Liked the artwork. My granddaughter found the cache. Everything's in good shape, and we traded some of the toys.

This is great Deer country evidenced by the number of Deer I saw today. Lots of great woods in this part of the state, I wish I could spend more time in woods like this. I found the cache easily, when I left I concealed the cache with a few more rocks. I imagine quite a few hunters pass by this area. I took a wheresgeorge bill and a small puzzle, and left a wheresgeorge and a Large deck of cards. Thanks for showing me this area, it was also a nice drive just to get close to the area by car.

Mrmeasure and Gofer found it! A pretty spot. We were able to drive to within about .1 mile. Took the low path in, and crossed the creek. We added three extra stones so those behind us can walk across without getting wet feet. Spotted the cache from the creek, which gave us an eye level view. An unusal natural formation to say the least. Took the stuffed doll key ring, and left a Twizzler puzzle, a Singapore doller, and a genuine Mr. Measure 6" ruler. Nice goin' Mother of Rocky!

This was my first find with my friend harv. Ijust never logged in.Now I have 18 finds and figured I better log them in.

My first cache find. Rocky, since your the one that turned me onto Geocaching, my first find had to be one of yours. Got the new toy (Map 76) on Friday and stayed up until 2 A.M. learning how to use it. Wanted to get in a find before we had too much snow to be able to find one. Fortunately we haven't had much snow and the last few warm days have settled it down to only a couple of inches. Donna couldn't go so I took my buddy Gary. Had to use 4 wheel drive coming in from the North. Didn't see any deer, but tracks indicated lots of them in the area We didn't have much trouble finding it. Actually Gary spotted it cause I was too busy looking at the GPS. Cache is in good shape. Guess no hunters found it ( see previous entry).
Wasn't planning on taking anything, so hadn't brought anything to leave. But Gary liked the pink golf ball. So took it and left a dollar. The golf ball will go to another cache. Signed the log book, took each others picture (the camera worked fine, even in the cold). Then used the Trac back to get back to the car. I actually
remembered to mark it before we went into the woods. Of course we could have followed out our tracks in. Thanks Rocky for turning me onto caching.

We thought this was supposed to be easy!!It was a tough walk in from where we started. For
got to mark that point but knew the way the road ran and followed the compass out .5 mile.
We came out 100 feet from the entry point. We did not have the GPS accuracy we needed
and kind of stumbled on to the cache. We took the rubber bungees and left a sewing kit..It
was a nice ending to a full geocaching day.

Hello there Mother of Rocky.. Delta team set out to celebrate Nate's Bday Cacheing.. We loved the area and unfortunately we had rushed out and forgot our camera.. AJ our youngest Cacher found this one ALL on his own. We were searching the usual spots for a hide.. and AJ zoned right in ;OD So our PIX in the camera is an action shot of AJ.. We did the usual log in and trade. Great one !!!! Happy Caching!

My brother and sister-in-law joined me on this adventure. We let Diane find this on her own, since it was her first time out searching. Nice clear and clean woods made it quite pleasant. Got lost on the way out though, since we went South along the road (dirt/stone road), instead of returning North. The road is quite rocky in places and folks might want to consider parking at the main road and walking in. Thanks for the hide. John
