Welcome to the second installment of P-Man's FLT.

The mission of the Finger Lakes Trail is "...to build, protect, promote, and enhance a continuous footpath across New York State. Forever!" The trail is comprised of 561 miles of main trail and 351 miles of branches. It extends from the New York-Pennsylvania state line in Allegany State Park and runs to Long Path in the Catskill Forest Preserve. The over 911 miles of trails are maintained by volunteer "sponsors" and crosses an equal amount of private land as it does public land. Many sections of the FLT have been designated as parts of the North Country National Scenic Trail that when completed will contain 4600 miles of trails for hiking enjoyment. For all the information on the FLT visit FLT Conference!

You will be looking for a 3 stage multi cache on a section of the Finger Lakes Trail adopted by our friendly caveman, Paleoman52 and his lovely counterpart, Dehgewanus. This section of the trail takes you through a majestic wooded lot between Graham and Camp roads. I want everyone to find every leg on this cache to enjoy the beauty of this trail so take your time, use your eyes, and let the satelites settle at every leg. You will be rewarded with a more enjoyable experience. The final is a small 4"X5" watertight container. I do recommend boots of some sort. Do not go here in anything less. I have posted trailhead coordinates below.

If you have not already, visit P-Man's FLT on the other geocache site by Howie and Zoggy. It is a great hike to another majestic spot on the other section of trail P-Man and Dehgewanus adopted and is not far from here!

Remember that this trail crosses private property. If you abuse it, we lose it! Please stay on the trail as you travel between legs. The trail is clearly marked by white blazes along the way. The legs are also hidden close to the trail so the surrounding area gets as little impact as possible. The FLT is a footpath and no bikes, horses, motorized vehicles, or snowmobiles are allowed.

For the FTF, there is a gold $1 coin and a 2008 Canadian Armestince Quarter. Also I am doing something different with this cache. After the first ten logs, I will put all the finders in a hat and have Mrs.S draw a name for a handmade walking stick. Good luck and thank you for visiting.

This cache is also listed on the Geocaching.com website.

I was up early or so I thought I was, and out of the house by 6:15am. Apparently not early enough to beat these seasoned cachers tho. This is a well done multi and I really enjoyed the journey through the woods. Thanks for the nice cache in this branch of the finger lakes trail my wife and I adopted.

Gotta agree with Cayuga on that one - I think NCers should get special treatment. :) Maybe a hiking stick, some beers and a catered lunch or something? Figured it was worth a shot right? Hahahaha.

Wait a cotton picking minute! Does this mean you'll be raffling off two custom walking sticks. one for geocaching.com finders and one for navicache loggers?

I like that it doubles our chances but it might be years before ten logs get entered here.

As noted on another site, Szuchie and I were up early this morning and walking this section of the FLT in search of this fine multi. We moved along quickly and had the cache in hand before most other cachers were even beginning to wake up nd signed in at about 6 10 am.

Thanks for placing it.
