This camouflaged pill bottle is my first hide in Virginia. Also the first non-event cache I'm crosslisting between Groundspeak and Navicache, though it has been out for about six months.

I spotted this location on the way home from work and immediately knew I needed to place a cache here. I made a u-turn and scoped out the area. Luckily, I had a container and logsheet with me. Please bring your a pen or pencil.

Note - As of sometime in the first half of November 2009, the billboard is no longer one of BSA's "Trustworthy" ads.

The Boy Scouts of America is celebrating their 100th anniversary in 2010. I was never a scout as a youth, but served as a leader since my son joined Cub Scouts have very much enjoyed my experience in the program.

Trustworthy is the first point of the Scout Law.

A scout is...
Trustworthy, Loyal, Helpful,
Friendly, Courteous, Kind,
Obedient, Cheerful, Thrifty,
Brave, Clean, and Reverent

I placed this cache a year ago and the BSA Trustworthy billboard almost immediately. I've decided that since GZ is not exactly much of a destination, it is time to retire this cache. It's been a while since I've been to the cache and I did not recognize the hide. It has definitely evolved (through being listed on GC.com). I actually really liked how it was hidden, now, but it was just time.

Besides, scout552's log was the perfect icing on the cake. I will be putting the container back out, soon, with the dollar he left. Not sure when or where, but I will try to get it out soon.

Thanks to NetworkCacher who was the only one to log the cache on NC. Happy Trails & Be Prepared!

Thought I'd share the final log on the cache from GC.com.

October 1 by scout552 (371 found)

A spider was perched atop a camoflaging item. I awaited his departure and made a quick grab.

A Scout is...
trustworthy, (no lie, I left George Washington in there)
loyal, (CO, you rock for the Scout themed cache and service as a Cubbie leader, keep up the good work, Happy Centennial!)
helpful, (left a couple Post-It notes if the log gets full, it really should be replaced with a formal log now)
friendly, (no animals were harmed in the writing of this log)
courteous, (I think the spider appreciated me waiting)
kind, (I left a bandage in case anyone cuts themselves on the sharp metal of the sign, don't do it!)
obedient, (I parked in a designated space)
thrifty, (Hmmm... I did give away that buck...)
brave, (that jogger and his dog hardly scared me)
clean, (I dunno, it's been pretty muddy out Geocaching the last few days!)
and reverent! (Pray, tell, where did they put those caches?!)

I'll post a photo or two soon. Don't know if any Scout noticed this, but there is a metal plate tacked to one of the sign poles that says "OA VA". Not sure what that was for, but some of you will identify with those letters! YIS... Scout552

Quick little find on my way to work this morning. As I approached I understood more about the cache name, but then I thought, "what about carpets & flooring?" Thanks for the cross-listing, TFTC.
